New Everton Stadium

Far too late for all that chest beating.
What chest beating? I'm Irish, I have zero links to Liverpool except being a Blue. In that sense I'm a tourist. Liverpool is an amazing city. Scream it from the roof tops, we are the founding club of one of the most famous cities in the world. Iconic bands, football, architecture, history itself yet you want to disavow Everton from our own birthplace? I just don't get that.

That's just blah blah.

Name is immaterial, it will be 'Sponsorship Stadium' and then after 10 years probably 'New Sponsorship Stadium'.

You get used to the commercialization of everything to the point that it seems odd that it was ever done any other way. You become numb to the fact that we are all(mostly) simply consumers in the great grinding wheel of capitalism and eventually most people will probably even 'like' being associated with the brand of whatever that comes to represent a portion of Everton. Only sometimes you'll look back at simpler times when you felt like things had meaning and self determination (they didn't, we never had any actual control).

But hey, we'll be rich and in a new stadium, so the nihilistic moment will pass leaving just a trace of doubt regarding whether anything means anything (hint: it doesn't) and we will all just be happy that things are 'progressing'.

Don't you need to build a new stadium first before you name it ?

just putting it out there

People buy plots of land before a brick is laid, they buy whiskey before it is distilled...........however, I doubt though the naming rights will come first, why should it, the club will have 3-4 years to secure the best sponsorship deal and come up with the best name.

As the senior and first professional club based in the City of Liverpool, I can't think of anything more appropriate than to have the word Liverpool in the stadium name.

The first purpose built, senior football stadium built in the City, one of the greatest footballing cities in the world, since the 19th Century should bear the city's name, especially with "the home of Everton football club" attached to it.

"Liverpool Waters Stadium, Home of Everton Football Club" would be immense IMO
Sounds about right to me.
