New Everton Stadium

Why pick on the centre of town though?

Surely the nearest public transport hub such as Moorefields or James Street is more applicable? Then the travel time is chopped in two when you stop off for a few drinks in the new pubs and drinkeries.

And Soccerbuses every few minutes from all the train stations in town as well.

Liverpool one is about 10-15 minute walk from Clarence, bout 35 from BMD. But it doesn't really matter anyway, cause we wont be at Clarence.

Clarence being closer to the Pier Head is going to be so much harder to get, we need to make this easier by going for the most northerly dock that we can, which us what we seem to be doing, if the differance is only an extra 10 minute walk that isn't even an issue.

We'll find out soon enough, I guess. I wouldn't feel let down by BM, just think the closer to town, the better. At least we are all having a difference of opinion over something very positive for the club. Night, night all. Up The Toffees!

If you look at the Roma stadium video (which the Meis architects produced, the ones designing our new stadium, so this video is the sort of stuff we'll get when ours is announced), and get to the parts towards the end where they show the insides of the stadium and the stands, you'll see the stands inside are different. There's a more corporate end, and then there's very steep - dare I say, Kop-like (Dortmund more than the other lot) two tier massive stands where the atmosphere would be great.

If we got something like this, with an EFC twst/theme, coupled with being on the banks of the Mersey, it would be incredible. It would blow away every other club ground in this country, and make LFC's new stand look like nothing.

To say this would transform the club in so many different ways is the understatement of the century.

Oh my. Just watching that video makes me very, very excited for the future.

If we had that on the Liverpool docks, with a higher capacity, it would well and truly gazump every stadium in this country.

Could have a few pints with me feet up, sitting looking out at the docks on a nice afternoon before heading to a European game in our big swanky new arena. I need a lie down ffs.

Externally, it just looks like myriad other doughnut shaped arena. I want something that wows inside and out. It needs to be as instantly recognisable as the Allianz or the Lucas Oil.

I like the idea that in the design of the AS Roma stadium they took into consideration the need to make it intimidating with that large end section. Imagine the atmosphere.

Ugh... I just need to get to Goodison after I recover and get back to work. No new stadiums until I can afford to get to Liverpool and get at least 2 home matches in - preferably 3 if they've got a mid-week FA match somewhere within a train hop away.

Yeah I understand that - its more about the smell round that area.

Did you read the whole review? The smell was from a stained carpet, not the sewerage works.

This has been gone over plenty in this thread. UU have a responsibility to minimise odour in the area. If there are complaints they are required to act and do what is required to prevent the smell. Plus, it is generally accepted that the smell that is produced is from the mollases.

It's almost like that reviewer put that title to make GoT fume.

Sorry I didn't I've just seen the headline and assumed it related to that but the area there does smell whether it's the UU plant or molasses. As far as I can see UU were taken to court but were found to have broken no laws. There was also an out of court settlement agreed with local residents. The location is great if the 'smell' can be fixed if not it becomes an unattractive site IMO.
