We could always have a top tier say behind each goal that is non season ticket but only opened after the lower tiers have sold out, therefore not the smattering of empty seats you see at the Etihad, all the seats will be sold out close to the pitch and then the upper tier sold on a game by game basis. Wouldn;t be noticed by the cameras and we would retain the intimidating atmosphere. 50,000 then an extra 10,000 as and when it is needed. Even allow 5000 away fans - better atmosphere and more money! Also one of these tiers could allow almost 'giveaway' prices to students, schools unemployed etc one to boost attendances and two to increase the overall fan base.

Building a new ground is a once in a century decision. It is impossible to predict into the future but it is preferable to be on the optimistic side when talking about capacity of any new stadium.
Everything we hear tells of the ambitions Moshiri has for the club and of course there is also the possibility of additional investors/owners getting involved.
If we are to compete with the elite clubs then we need to be on a level playing field(obvious pun) with them. We need a ground capable of generating the kind of money that top four clubs generate, that night in the CL can generate.

This won't happen overnight, but then building the new ground hopefully will be adequate for decades to come without further capital expenditure on increasing capacity.

I'd love something similar to the new Juventus stadium. Really steep stands, it only holds 40k - imagine a 60k version!
