New Everton Stadium

Steep sided intimidating ground with fans very close to the pitch. And to retain some of the old stuff so it doesn't feel quite as soulless and devoid of character. By which I mean obviously loads of blue gravel.
I think you'll find that modern health and safety/and or/ building requirements restrict the rake on a stand, and a very 'steep' stand would therefore be out of the question. I believe the Echo Arena is pretty steep, but think its either a different context, or they got in just before the change. I know that many old theatres could not be built today they way they were built way back when...nearly every London theatre, for example, breaks H and E regs at some point.

I really wish we could stay at GP..a 'new GP' with hints of the original world renowned architecture, and a PROPER Everton history museum...I have always thought that a superb, hands on, open to the public museum centering on our history would become a major Merseyside tourist attraction..I think it should be an essential part of a new stadium/complex. Everton artifacts should not be hidden away and people should not have to jump through hoops to see them. If we are marketing our history, we should market our present and our future equally well. A new stadium MUST be an instrument for progress, not a neccesary evil. We are proud of our history...so tell people about it. Its only part of what should be done ...but its one of the things that must be done a nd must be highlighted from now on at every stage of the development. We know that things 'change' or 'get lost' in drawn out discussions, but certain aspects of any move or refurbishment need to be sacrosanct.

How did we ever disagree? :)

Always believed that the Leitch stands, now being the last ones iirc (once spurs go) would be a focal point, the church too, and even heritage funding could be sought to achieve this...

Ideas eh? Who needs them.... :)

a question I asked during the DK debacle and I can't remember it ever being answered.

Due to their design, history, dare I say it, age, I reckon they could qualify if the right proposals were put forward.

That sort of incorporation into a design helps around PP and such to a certain degree

Apparently the Bullens road stand is a listed building

Great post. Should be sent to board this.

Completely agree, also when ever fans are given a choice buy the current board, were given a list of things we don't want and asked to choose between them like the recent badge debacle, questions a long the lines of out off all these options you dont want which one don't you want the least.

only what i seen on wiki FLHD didnt say what grade they are listed as

Weird if they are. Like you can only see the reason they would be listed from inside the ground. Arsenal has to keep the Art Deco frontage for for one of their stands when Highbury was converted into flats, but at least that can be seen!
