There is a very strong argument that it is Goodison that has driven us on, no matter what you do with a new stadium you cannot guarantee an atmosphere, the Old girl has that, noted by many players and managers of opposition.
I would argue that the case for a new stadium isn't to please existing supporters but to attract daytrippers the way 'big' clubs do, as they spend in the shops more.
You want a football experience or you want an arcade with a pitch, with Everton it is so dependant upon outside forces with a ground move, and their input will be higher on the list of priorities than those of existing supporters, DK was testament to that.
Now you are just exaggerating, 'la.yeah! and it will be made of dog poo and be cursed by the devil and built on ancient burial ground and we will never win a game again because of the curse, ffs kenwright!
Let's get this lid in and turn the new stadium into a pyramid-type thing.

We could even put the mummy of tutankhamun up front to appease him; would score more goals than Kone anyways like.
As I see it you can have Goodison or Barkley.
As much as we love Goodison it simply doesn't provide us with the earning capacity needed to keep Everton
in the upper echelons of the premiership. From what I have seen and read it is not possible to build a 50k plus stadium on the current footprint.
We need new investors/owners but will not get any while Goodison is our ground as the bill to fund a new ground
is too prohibitive.Investors have a fear of the unknown and as things stand Everton is not an attractive investment package.
Spurs are going to move, Arsenal have already done so. I think it is something we have to do if the club is to progress.
Unfortunately , football is now more about economics than it is football.
You can have the best manager in the world, but without finance he cannot compete and will leave eventually.
You can produce the best talent in the world ,but if the team isn't winning trophies they will in time leave to go to teams that are.
A new ground gives the club to make more money and maybe attract investors.
A new ground may give us the opportunity to become established as a top four team, rather than a team that has top four aspirations.
Instead of blue gravel we could have like a sand moat around the pitch.YES! coincidence we talking about a new stadium? i dont think so...welcome our new egyptian overlords
You've actually said something I was thinking, but I think from a different perspective. What makes a football stadium is the people that fill the best part of it..the regular supporters. That 'aura' hopefully will still happen or be rebuilt quickly if/when we move. 'Unfortunately' ,some might say, today we also have to get into the market that attracts day trippers, tourists, the 'non Everton supporting' spectators, because these are the people who will fill the rest of the ground and will tend to buy more merchandise than the regular match going blue(probably). The stadium has to be a tourist attraction.Tourism is one of the few growth markets around...it can mean big money, and global exposure.
As hard as it will be to leave Goodison, it is needed. Think of all the restricted views and how many more seats we could fill.
So long as the names right and the design I do think it's a step forward.
I'd like a round design like Bayern Munich's ground, that looks the business.
Name wise: 1878 Stadium? The School of Science? NSNO arena?
I don't know, that's up for debate.
I'd imagine if someone is sponsoring us for it that would be in their somewhere. Like the Emirates.
Personally I'd like the stands to be named after ex players rather than the stadium. For example, Dixie Dean Stand, Ferguson End, Sharpe Stand etc...
The stadium will be called what the sponsors name is.
