New Everton Stadium

I really wish we could stay at GP..a 'new GP' with hints of the original world renowned architecture, and a PROPER Everton history museum...I have always thought that a superb, hands on, open to the public museum centering on our history would become a major Merseyside tourist attraction..I think it should be an essential part of a new stadium/complex. Everton artifacts should not be hidden away and people should not have to jump through hoops to see them. If we are marketing our history, we should market our present and our future equally well. A new stadium MUST be an instrument for progress, not a neccesary evil. We are proud of our history...so tell people about it. Its only part of what should be done ...but its one of the things that must be done a nd must be highlighted from now on at every stage of the development. We know that things 'change' or 'get lost' in drawn out discussions, but certain aspects of any move or refurbishment need to be sacrosanct.

That's a great post that,
Now what have you done with Steve?;)

Very well put. This must be done correctly....but i fear won't.

A few things....

1. So I guess a press conference won't happen today?

2. Yes we'd all love to modify goodison but it'll cost too much in comparison to a new stadium. That why it's a total fantasy to mod goodison. We're only gonna get a stadium if it's new.

3. Square please but I guess the reason most new are bowl is that it's cheaper to construct therefore a bowl will probably be on the cards.

4. Stupid Everton!

Not a big fan of named stands me. I get the nod to the past and all that, just think they sound a bit naff.

Also, if we named all 4 stands, then we win the CL & PL with Bobby, what do we do????

Bobby will have to buy a brick with his name on for the new stadium to pay for it, regardless of winning anything.

With respect, I have to disagree, I don't think it has been sufficiently proven to warrant taking it forward in the search of the investment capital that would be required. And if it meant closing one section of the ground for possibly a season while it was demolished and rebuilt, the club would lose revenue on the affected attendance numbers.

GP is and always be the home we think of fondly and with marvellous memories, but modern times need modern thinking and that I would respectfully suggest means a new stadium elsewhere. Kings Dock would have been the ultimate to my mind.
Is there nowhere else in the docklands area that would be suitable for a new stadium?
