New Everton Stadium

Tez. After careful consideration, the architects decided Mr Moshiri wouldn't have his danglers hanging out the undercarriage and so settled on this final design.
If you could give it the OK they can start Tuesday.

New Everton waterfront stadium would be iconic venue to rival the Etihad

It's an issue that all Evertonians want to see resolved as soon as possible.

So it was hugely encouraging, to say the least, to see Farhad Moshiri, Bill Kenwright and co at the Bramley Moore Dock in Liverpool on Friday.

Sure it was, for now, little more than a site visit, but make no mistake this is a step in the right direction. The people involved value their time very highly, and for them to have all agreed to give it up at the same time, for the same purpose, says something.

My personal opinion is that a waterfront stadium would be a dream for Everton, and for the city of Liverpool.

Dare I say it, a venue like that would even surpass the Etihad, home of today's opponents Manchester City.

It would be, first and foremost, an iconic venue for this incredible club to call home. And let's face it, we need something special if we do decide to leave Goodison Park, and the phenomenal history we have there.

But in terms of regeneration and investment for the city, it would also have a huge effect.

There are lots of similarities with Manchester City, for whom the Etihad came about due to close workings between the club and the local council, who were ran by a forward-thinking, dynamic presence.

There's a long way to go before the club signs off on anything, of course, but we're allowed to dream, aren't we? And hey, why not dream big while we're at it?

Maybe. I just don't see a situation where Peel are cornered to do anything they don't want to do. Maybe the straws in the wind are telling them it's the right time to shift gear on this land they own. Equally they might just be playing games.
Haven't they just announced a big development in Manchester?. Not sure what the proposed timing of this is, but they will undoubtedly be in the process of exploring the finances of this development, and the sale of a bit of brown site land at above market prices would be a welcome bonus I would have thought.

Plus getting somebody like Everton to build a state of the art stadium plus ancillary developments such as hotels/bars etc, could be the kick start they need for their stalled Liverpool waters plans.

That's highly encouraging if accurate but the idea that EFC flew Dan Meiss all the way from America then drove him to the site only to have him stay in the car seems just a little far fetched.
Well the 'wasted' journey in that scenario would be that between the docks and Stonebridge across, not the transatlantic flight.

He flew over to look at the site of the stadium, and that's what he did.

For starters I just want to say I'm not ITK, just passing on something I was told last night.

I was out having a bevvie in Rigby's and bumped into an old mate of mine. He's a very dedicated Evertonian and a real genuine guy so have absolutely zero reason to believe he was winding me up. He said that the previous night, Thursday, Dan Meis and his pal were in there enjoying a pint of Okell's and he bent their ears for about half an hour. They were apparently surprisingly candid given the clubs obvious silence on the subject. But they were certain that BMD would be the site of the new stadium and also it would be a "significant" development.

Up until now I've hoped rather than believed in the riverfront option, but now I'm starting to get excited. COYB,
