New Everton Stadium

Also, what's this about a H&S issue at BM?

Surely not the adjacent sewage works? Because firstly, SC is also adjacent to a sewage works, and secondly, people live nearby SC - anyone who's been to Fazakerly hozzie regularly will be familiar with that odd whiff in the air now and then.

Not sure there's anything in that, if indeed it's to do with waste water.
I pass through Sandhills station morning and late afternoon 2 or 3 days a week and have done for about a year. During that period there has only been 1 occasion when there bad aromas when we pulled into Sandhills, and that was approximately a month ago. It was actually really bad and was there on both the outward and return journey's, about 6/7 hours apart.

Don't know what caused the smells or where it came from, but it is clearly not a regular occurrence so surely can't represent a H&S issue can it?

That's highly encouraging if accurate but the idea that EFC flew Dan Meiss all the way from America then drove him to the site only to have him stay in the car seems just a little far fetched.

With respect SC is nothing more than a contingency in the event that planning permission was not secured.

As mentioned the deal for BM was struck in August. Peel would not allow Everton to send a major delegation including the whole board, publicised and photographed, to BM without a deal being in place.

The recriminations for both parties if there was no deal would be huge for no benefit whatsoever.

Well the 'wasted' journey in that scenario would be that between the docks and Stonebridge across, not the transatlantic flight.

He flew over to look at the site of the stadium, and that's what he did.

It's not his first visit to the Bramley Moore area. This visit was more of a PR exercise than a fact finding or orientation trip. The visit to SBC would've been no more than a cursory glance to satisfy recent smokescreens.

What does the planning permission entail mate? Is that submitted to the council or?

I wouldn't have thought it'd present an issue. Otherwise no one would be able to live nearby, and people do.

I'm not a planning expert, in fact know next to nothing about it, but yes submissions to the council.

It would appear from Anderson's greeting with Moshiri that he at least will be pro BM and there's no obvious reason why there should be problems particularly as part of a wider development and council support on transport infrastructure.

I really want to start getting excited about all this but trying to keep a lid on it all til we're further down the line but hey don't want to put a damper on your enthusiasm mate party on, I really want it to come to fruition (no bramley pun intended) and I hope we can all party once there is some form of official announcement.
I know where you're coming from mate and I've been exactly the same throughout all the rumours etc.

I know Esk means well but sometimes his undoubting positivity turns out to be wide of the mark. Common sense also tells you that the "done deal" claims that were doing the rounds recently couldn't possibly have been true. There's no way that Everton would have committed to buy BMD without planning consent; that would be gross negligence of the highest magnitude. And we would have known if a planning application had been made as this needs to be a public process. The best that could have happened is the club have entered into an agreement with Peel for an option to buy the land at an agreed price, subject to planning consent being granted within an agreed time period. This may well have happened, I don't know. More likely is that we're in negotiations with Peel whilst undertaking feasibility studies.

It's such a massive project that many people wouldn't fathom the scale of investigations that need to be undertaken on the dock site before deciding to proceed. The Croxteth site would have been eminently more straightforward, and that's always been a fear at the back of my mind.

I can understand that the club doesn't want to make an official announcement until all the due diligence has been completed so have been surprised that people like Joe Anderson and Dan Meis have been a lot more candid on the subject. Maybe they are actually acting as the clubs mouthpiece. make a change from Sky Sports presenters if that's the case.

The reason I'm now starting to believe is that I know my source, and I understand that you and others don't have that luxury. He really is a genuine guy and a good blue and not one to go OTT. if anything he's the opposite. And you can't get anybody more ITK than Dan Meis. He was apparently so positive on the issue you have to assume that the DD has pretty much been done and the project is now a goer.
