New Everton Stadium

No-one is expecting them to cater for every whim of the fans, but it'd be nice if they had some dialogue to understand what the fans feel most passionate about. They'll never please everyone but it's better to please most than it is to please none.

Wouldn't that just be lip service? They do that and 5000 people all send back a mish mash of responses, maybe you get a majority on some requests like incorporate the Leitch crosses but you either end up with a hodge podge or the designer ignores them and goes his own way anyhow.

Personally I would like to see a design first and then the club ask for feedback/any ideas for improvements on it. You never know it might be better than you can impossibly imagine, if you start asking fans before they see it they could either close their minds to possibilities or be disenfranchised that none of their ideas have been added.

That's not to say i wouldn't like more info, i'm sure everyone would like more communication from the club regarding the plans, but I guess it would be very boring until they have it set in their minds what they are going to build, in terms of location/capacity etc. Remember this is all quite a recent thing, up until the 90's the first you would have heard regarding a new stadium would be a statement to say the club are looking to do something and the next time would be when you see the model of the thing at the public planning town hall meeting!

Who's saying don't consult with the fans? This all started because the BU tweeted the mayor to ask to be consulted on ticket prices and stadium facilities amongst it her things.

I think this conversation is more about the BU acting like thumbs than whether fans should be consulted or not.

I'm made up he ignored them.

Who the hell do they think they are?

I know a stadium is essentially just a box that the football is played in, but it is still part of the product that the fans pay for, and you would expect some manner of feedback process. For example, if the fans overwhelmingly complained about a lack of space on the concourse beneath the stand, wouldn't you want to factor that into your design?

would like to be a fly in the wall in Mr. Moshiris office. It tickles my imagination that there should be atleast three different designs of the stadium on his desk.

i wonder if they have the preferred option selected already(?)
I hope one of the options is the original one for the Kings Dock, looked fantastic

Lets
More to the point we all want different things! If they get to a scenario where they had 2 to 5 designs and they couldn't decide which one was best because they were all equally as good, then it would be nice to open it to a fan vote, else let them get on with it.

It's not like they've submitted secret planning permission yet, until they get to a point that something should be unveiled we just have to be patient. We can only start questioning details if we can see what their going to do and I don't believe they are at that stage yet.

You mean like the horrendous badge we've ended up with........now im not to sure..!!!

....we did have a thread on here about fans requirements for the stadium, I hope the powers that be consider some of the specifics raised.

I know your just using it as an example but we know and they know the concourses are cramped at goodison, so do they need to be told that a thousand times over? If you go to any new stadium even the cheap ones say Cardiff city for instance their is space ahoy.

Dan Meis is not going to be associated with a stadium that it is going to be crap. Until designs are released I just don't see what we can input, they are all roughly built now to similar sorts of standards regarding seat and leg room sizes, the number of toilets, rake of stands etc. I would say have faith in him even if you don't have faith in the club to get it right.

I'm not sure if any other clubs like Spurs/Arsenal or even the new FC big stand consulted any of their fan base before building something, I wonder why we feel the need to get so involved?

We have a designer, let him or more likely her design. If it's crap and 99% universally disliked, by all means kick off!
