New Everton Stadium

My first thought was the episode of The Simpsons when Homer is allowed to design his dream car and put it into production, and so bankrupted his brother's business!

How much longer before an announcement do we think?
Pretty sure Dan Meis said on Twitter that it wouldn't be a the Stadium Design Summit which is in just over a week. He could of course be bluffing but if he is telling the truth then the AGM would seem like the most likely option.

I think The Esk said that was likely to be towards the end of November.

I've been told by a very informed person, that it's going to be built on water, when we have possession, the entire pitch will tip to allow the ball to fly into the net. When they're attacking us, they'll be playing uphill at an impossible angle

Here's an early mockup.

Let's go the whole hog and just plant small landmines so when an opposing player is in our half but in 5 yards of space all around, it triggers. Hopefully in subsequent games they will all be bunched up in their own penalty area or stay firmly attached to our players...

We'll just blame it on unexploded WW2 ordenance. :p

I just looked at the Roma stadium mentioned above (sorry if it has already been posted) the time line from conception to delivery of a project of this size is huge if our stadium is to be a part of a much wider vision. Maybe we are just gonna have to be a lot more patient. I hope they start with the access and stadium first. In fact I hope at least parts 1 to 5 are already done.

I know what your saying but it's a bit different plonking a screen in a basic 6k stand to putting one in a larger stand that has been designed to incorporate it in a decent way to start with.

If you look at almost every NFL stadium and Wembley they've been designed to have these screens so don't be surprised if ours does too. It's that or we have them hanging from the roof as per the Vetlins arena/Principality stadium or in the corners if the seating area dips as per the Emirates and Spurs new gaff.
It's only a bit different, but not a lot different, the experience once it's in will be the same. I am more of an older style supporter with the terrace mentality where I like a good quality End Stand to 'suck the ball' into the net as Kendall said. Right behind the goal having a big tele in there? A huge no thank you.

Now you mentioned that about don't be surprised if there's a tele there, you might very well be right on that. You've got me worried now!

You can do something like Spurs currently have at White Hart Lane and have two big screens incorporated into the roof so the stands at the end remain unbroken. Would obviously want it to look better than this and to be better integrated...

Hey, those were state of the art (probably) Sony Jumbotrons when Alan Sugar installed them in the 90s!

Thing is. sticking the screens up on the roof like that, they might be a long, long way up in a modern 60k stadium. I'd agree doing a Roma/Wembley isn't smart, so I'd go with putting them in the corners or having an NFL-stylee suspended video cube.

Or you could go nuts and do what Krasnodar have done

I wouldn't worry I'm pretty sure if we have a single tier it will be probably at the top of it anyhow, (thus allowing room for expansion) or tastefully added to the corners as they blend into the single tier end. Some examples below, obviously we know Wembley, so if it's a 2 tier all around stadium then it's easy to squeeze in and not look too out of place

The metlife stadium screens come in off the sides, easy to imagine a big single tier running up that end in between them

The US Bank Stadium has different size screens at both ends, one on top of a fairly small sized stand, so I guess if we have one it would be twice the size with a screen at the back

The other takes the place of the middle tier/hospitality area.

Both could be executed better with neater finishes but just goes to show what can be done. One of the benefits of a true bowl is that it gives you somewhere neat and tidy to put these screens away from the supporters but we don't want that...
