New Everton Stadium

Was on the Belfast ferry this week so had a great view of the waterfront from the centre to BM dock and beyond. Took some pictures but they don't really do justice to the view.

From the ferry it's fair to say that any new stadium would dominate that end of the LW scheme. The sheer scale of a stadium compared to its surroundings would leave such an impact on anybody looking at that skyline. Quite simply it's an opportunity that must not be missed and will raise Everton's profile immeasurably.

For the benefit of any wools reading this :dodgy:, this is taken from the top end and shows distance to town....

This is pretty much opposite BM dock and shows how a stadium would dominate......

This is the view from town with the Dockers Clock and Stanley Warehouse visible in the far left.

for the benefit of some. The crane that is pretty much central to the first picture, rises out of the centre of the tobacco warehouse which in that view is just to the right of BM docks.

Then on the third picture, the final tall building you can see marks the current end of the Princes dock development, in front of which the cruise liner terminal will sit. They are hoping, and have been given positive vibes, that Cunard will reopen their transatlantic cruises from Liverpool-New York. So we will be on pretty much every picture of the Queen Mary II when she's docked, when pics are taken from over the water.

Moshiri, Dan Meis, Joe Anderson and various other board members have visited Bramley Moore Dock to view it and tipped off the press the day beforehand. They were also meant to visit Stonebridge Cross but no pictures have emerged from that and some say they never got out of their cars, others aren't sure they even went.

Thanks about that fella, it's really looking good, I can now allow myself to get mildly excited that this might actually happen.

Plus all the maddies on here are arguing amongst themselves about where to put screens bigger than the stadiums themselves when we're yet to get an official announcement of any kind, they can get excited if they want but we're 30 months and 1240 pages down the line on this one I'm waiting until we're further down the line in the planning and money paid up front stage before going OTT.

when i went to vienna recently for the welsh game they were selling popcorn in the stadium, someone coming around to all the seats selling it,

... this would be a terrible idea.

The stadium must have dual advertising and dual TV gantry's.

Advertise to the UK via one side of the stadium , from one TV gantry
Advertise to other markets via the other side and other gantry.

I would imagine the ad hoardings will be green screen soon enough so any market can superimpose their own ad.
They do it with the ad behind the batter in MLB.

Imagine we are getting battered by the RS and someone comes round trying to sell you popcorn

Hopefully, by the time our new (envy of the world) stadium is built, the team will be so immeasurably better in terms of quality and mental strength that the days of the RS battering us will be a distant and waning memory ;)

No we are not, get real for f's. sake !!

You're obviously on the wind up, but it's interesting that both Man City and Liverpool have extended their grounds to 55 and 54,000, yet both can't sell out in certain big games themselves which is one of the worries that people have if we started at 55,000. Not sure whether LFC were offering their £9 tickets for local fans for the Man United game the other night, but for them to be 1,200 down on Capacity is pretty poor.

Man City often struggle to sell out CL games as well.

Then again, it doesn't surprise me too much as before both clubs expanded, neither had averaged over 50,000 in a season like we have done before, so perhaps the local matchgoing fanbase just isn't there for either of those clubs when they play a big game mid week?

We on the other hand are selling out our 40,000 stadium with weeks to spare with £35-£40 tickets for a lot of games, despite thousands of terrible obstructed views.

I am looking forward to us showing our neighbours how it's done when we move to the new Stadium.

As I've said, 50,000 unobstructed views would be sufficient !!
