It's not a matter of having to be kept informed. Obtaining planning permission is a public process. There will be no big reveal of a design that has received planning permission.
The application will satisfy the curiosity of loads of many fans who would like know to that an agreement has been reached with Peel, what size the stadium it will be, what form it will take etc.
If planning is rejected, we suck it up and move on. As others have said however, it is likely that many of the practical challenges that need to be dealt with will have been identified already.
But what about if the club come out and confirm that they're hoping it does come off, and then something goes wrong? Wouldn't be the first time we've had false promises regarding a new stadium would it? The fanbase would be livid and the club would have brought it on themselves.
Why there is this expectation from the fans that they have to be kept informed on every last thing, especially with something as important as this is beyond me.
I'm not asking to be informed of 'every last thing'. Far from it. I couldn't be arsed about the ins and outs of stadium design and facilities. I just want a 'yes, we are doing everything we can to get a stadium on the docks'.
As for 'false promises'? Too late.
A photo shoot at BMD? A 'supposed' visit to SC? Are these not, in themselves, false promises?
The longer I am kept in the dark the more I begin to think of a certain theatre producer and his decades of dangling, what always turned out to be, false promises in front of me.
Yes, the fanbase is going to be well and truly ticked off if this goes awry. But if they can show it was out of their hands because Atlantis was discovered at the bottom of the dock then fine. But to think that after the photo shoot they can deny any responsibility they are sadly mistaken. The time for denials is long past.
Nothing will be the same? Show us then.
But when we were after the Kings Dock, which we were informed of and which did go badly, badly awry, everyone was mighty cheesed off.I'm not asking to be informed of 'every last thing'. Far from it. What has Raheem Sterling being weak in the Euros got to do with a new stadium?with sterling so weak v euro it makes a stadium much more expensive

there are 8/9 plants over here going full time sending truck loads of stuff over on the ferries
I wasn't offended in the slightest. I was merely pointing out you can disagree and be civil at the same time.Any need to be offended on behalf of somebody else ?
