New Everton Stadium

Expect some more leaks to the echo to distract from today's game

I'll tell you now - they'll feed things to the media to try and slowly build this dopey story that materialises into the stadium not happening and eventually we'll come out with some "we did everything possible" excuse.

We're still having to sell players to buy others, we aren't getting this fancy dock stadium any time soon.

This doesn't sound like Stonebridge Cross to me...

"I went to Liverpool with Bill (Kenwright), I visited the sites with the Mayor (Joe Anderson). The club has taken soundings from fans.

"In our mind, we know where we want to go. We are committed.

"I can reassure the fans that they will have a stadium that rewards their loyalty and their passion. That is a key aim."

Especially when you consider the rumours on here from a few posters who reckon a deal was done in August regarding the purchase of Bramley Moore Dock.

You would hate to think otherwise

I think we need something similar to the Atlanta Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which has an adjustable capacity, so they can decrease the capacity from American Football for the MLS games. If you look at the pictures from Wikipedia below, it has mechanical curtains that close off the upper bowl for Atlanta United FC games. This way when your playing smaller games/teams you don't have huge amounts of empty seats, but for bigger games we can increase the capacity. It really needs to look right and that it belongs to keep the atmosphere. Then we could perhaps have 65k for bigger games and 45k for smaller ones. Also, keep in mind how you could efficiently lay down a temporary athletics surface and lose a few lower rows, so Liverpool as the city and Everton can host the commonwealth games. But when I looked at Meis website, it looks like he specializes in adaptable stadiums.
