The Independent is the broadsheet equivalent (and I use broadsheet very loosely here) to a child's comic, so I wouldn't believe it too much.

For most of us, official confirmation before the AGM will be fantastic. It would be the first OFFICIAL word about the new ground (well done Everton PR) and I don't think fans would be too impatient once that happens. Very exciting if it happens!

Could the delay in announcing the deal to buy the land by them waiting for Meis to complete a design that they feel hits the brief and is signed off. Meaning they could announce the entire project at the same time?
