New Everton Stadium

Absolutely love the top balcony. The mods all sat on the back row for the Spurs game, 2014/15.

Strange how the mind works at times - that just conjured up the vision of you all sat there in Royal Blue fish tail parkas singing "we are the Mods, we are the Mods, we are, we are, we are the Mods" - in a sort of Quadrophenia type style !

Haha!

Was a good day that, result notwithstanding. And one of the funniest threads in mod central ever. Oh, and a totally lollol gif aimed at me and @micknick that will last long in the memory.

Slightly off topic but planning applications were submitted today for a number of high rise apartment blocks ranging from mid 20 to 40 stories tall along Leeds Street/Old Hall St . My point being private investment totalling 100's of millions is about to be ploughed into the Northern part of Liverpool city centre which is an extra to what Peel plan for Liverpool Waters , confidence must be extremely high in the business sector and our stadium is gonna look absolutely superb next to a waterfront vista of skyscrapers and cruise ships !

Sounds like a plan doesnt it?

Speaking of steep stands, the top balcony in the main stand is terrifying. I sat on the back row a few seasons ago and the staircase up to it was like a ladder. Great view mind.
Terrifying indeed.

As a lad with a friend whose dad was working building the then 'new' stand I was taken up to the Upper Balcony when there was an elevator to take you there. The lift doors opened and I froze and then took a step back further into the lift, terrified to get out. Whatever happened to the lifts? And when did the players' warm up and practice area within the Main Stand get replaced with hospitality areas?

There is also the Pall Mall development. The north city boundary is shifting and it wont be long until we define it.

Yep, a false dawn for us mate, just reminded me I actually went on a stadium tour way back in 1985,if I recall correctly it was midweek before the Telford FA Cup Tie at a very snowy Goodison, an ex player Gordon Watson who had been at the club in various capacities for years was the tour guide which made for a very interesting Tour, great time to go as well, the FA Cup and Charity Shield were in the boardroom, took loads of photos should upload I suppose to remind the younger forum members that once upon a time we were really quite good:)
That was around the timeI went on my first tour of Goodison with ESCLA. Not sure where my old photos of it are though. My main memory was how the main stand towers over you. No wonder some of them can't play come Saturday 3pm...truly intimidating if the fans are are your back!!
