New Everton Stadium

I hope so, March seems like such a long way off. :)

Everton still try to look and act like a local club, for the community, that's why I cant see them making a statement/announcement to those who would not be directly affected by it first. MIPIM may well involve something about the plans if it has been announced, but will likely be more to do with the plans for the whole area, the infrastructure. They will be selling the available opportunities more than those that have already been taken. Everton being there is not the most important bit, its more that fact that something is going there. The fact that Everton are to be at Bramley Moore is more important to Evertonians than it is to potential investors. The real draw for Peel and their potential clients will be the transport plans.

We must also not forget that BMD is a very small part of the Liverpool city region masterplan, there is an awful lot of space to develop and they'll not want to focus on one area too much.

I could be wrong though.

In order of difficulrt: busses, road creation and finally a train line.

Peel being a private company who rely on grants is the reason why they are struggling to get the site developed, because the the transport to the site is non existent and they're not willing to put forward their cash to solve the problem on the other side of the wall which comes under the council.

By putting Everton at the very edge of their site and by getting the council to cooperate, this will give them access to grants, through the Council/Government to sort out the problem. It's a win win for them and I think they realise that now. Once this hurdle is overcome, they're sitting on a goldmine.

I'm sure I've read somehow there where plans to build a new duel carriageway?

The whole stadium project is potentially being help back by the transport links in my opinion.

Good question. Can't seem to find it online but judging by the below picture maybe the distance is further than some envisage it to be? Add an extra 2m for the Walter Smith era :dodgy:

Well the corner arcs are 1 yard in radius, so a bit of guesswork suggests between 5 and 6 meters.

Other "news from elsewhere" is that the council have recommended for approval Chelsea's new scheme. Planning meeting will be 11th Jan.

I see it says "new-look Stamford Bridge ready for the next year of the 2021/2022 season" I wonder if that is the season we will be ready by at this rate. Building on a empty site im sure should save us a bit of time, be great if it was done and ready for 19/20 down the docks.

Liverpool Council intend to build an access road through the King Edward industrial estate , initially for the new cruise liner and IOM ferry terminals.
It's on the Echo website but I can't link it sorry.
