New Everton Stadium

There is tonnes and tonnes of space on that site. The stadium would be better at Blackthorn Road end I think due to the least housing there and the road could be developed easier. There is still plenty of space for parks for kids.. But Id be surprised if the plans arent already drawn up in draft, so lets see.

you dont get why they should ask the fans view? were the ones who are going to visit it and pay for it over time with tickets etc. and i doubt were are well into architect designs already, they have said its very early in planning etc. if you cant see the point in them consulting the supporters then well im sorry. we dont want to end up with a joke of a stadium we want something that reflects the size and history of everton, we want something impressive to be proud of not a shithole of a design like the bolton stadium.
Id expect part of the planning and feasibility part of the process that rough plans are already in existance..

I've read the thread is clusters of pages and admittedly have probably missed about a third o comments.

Is everyone happy with Walton Hall Park, both from an Everton point of view & a Liverpool resident point of view?

Basically i'm happy with both, however having spoken to the Mrs's Dad the other day (A Red but a very weak one at that, the kind of person who likes football but wouldn't watch it, but he wouldn't voice an opinion as he knows he'd get shot down because of this) Anyway... He was saying how he wants us to get a new ground and how from a Liverpool resident point of view he thinks Walton Hall Park could be used better than to build a ground and houses. The talk of regeneration is crap because they are taking what could be a nice park and making it into something that could potentially be an eye sore. He also questioned why Stanley Park isn't a viable option anymore even though Liverpool were pretty much granted planning permission not long back

Anyway just wanted peoples opinions. Take your blue glasses, hat, shirts etc off and let me know.
Difficult question,I am happy with WHP in one way as its in a good location, it happens to be about 10 minutes walk from my Mums
so makes it very handy for me personally,on the other had using parkland doesnt sit quite right with me,but again if it helps improve
the area, bring jobs, housing and other amenities to the area, then maybe its for the best as what is left of the park may improve

If it happens I'd imagine the stadium will be named after the sponsors like Emirates and Etihad.

So if that's the case id like to see the stands/ends names to be Everton related... Goodison Park End, Glawdys Street, The School of Science Stand, Dixie Dean End etc...

I'd hate that. Fair enough, you could have one end called the Goodison End I suppose but when we go places like West Ham and sit in the Trevor Brooking stand it just seems a bit tacky. I'd much prefer the sides of the ground to be determined by the location of the ground. Gwladys Street and Bullens Road are great names for stands, but only because that's where they are.

Just get on and do it. Don't talk about it, don't ask the fans opinion, just design and build it. I don't care if it's a bowl, got 4 stands, looks like a bloody egg cup or whatever. Just do it and get the bloody thing built.......

The kopites were granted permission to build on SP, so there's a precedent, plus the site is much bigger and would still leave plenty of greenspace when complete. The addition of social housing to the plan would also make objectors jobs harder I reckon.

Can we fund something that is worthy of carrying the Club's crest? is the main question we as Evertonians should be waiting for an answer to now, as the outline idea and location seems perfectly acceptable. at face value.

Anyone think Chang could be a major player in this if this site has now been approved?,they have for good or bad stuck around for a fair few years now.
I doubt it. They are getting high profile exposure on the biggest football stage for bargain basement investment. Unless they show substantially more coin, I think we'll see a change. Besides, we won't build it on the back of a cheap shirt sponsor, the club has to ask for considerably more...

I know, they do seem to have been over there a lot though in the last 12/18 months and played that friendly game before the start of the season, maybe cogs are turning...........very slowly!its the Everton way!
