Poundland Park?
So is the Council on-board with these plans for WHP or is this just us saying we'd like to build on these please sir?
And wait for it...seems like Everton is leading the funding!Seems like they're in...

but still all looks a little vague to me.
I disagree. Has to be done sooner or later, and given the extra 30million or so the TV money gives us there is a bit of leeway there. Also the key players in the team are young as Martinez has been building a youthful core so there is less of a need for replacing aging legs and Bobby has been shown as willing to promote if the players coming through are good enough as some of them are. 10million quid per year towards a new stadium still gives us money to spend when we need it whilst covering the debt. Then revenues from Europe come in too. The rewards outweigh the risk which has been significantly minimised by the long term strategy the manager has been taking.I'm not arguing with a new ground would or could generate extra funds and we can't stay at goodison forever commercial wise but in my eyes saving what budgets we have to pay towards a stadium, wouldn't be good. I don't know how we could pay it,but not buying players short term or not would hurt us more.
Tesco Thunderdrome mate.
and when we go back there after an away game it will be like Return to Thunderdome
(which i now realise isn't the name of the Mad Max film FFS)
Why dont you go find a team to support that you may be happy with? Bet you have a face like your avatar being so bitter all the time..Talks about talks and a planning application in a year ('hopefully').
Not happening - smoke and mirrors.
It suits the council and club's politics.
The club will never settle the stadium issue under Kenwright and his backers.

The thing is though, if we increase revenue, we have more to spend. That's the "alternative" you speak of, or do you have a magical miracle cure for how Everton can make more money to spend on players?
My concern is that there is gonna be a lot of opposition from local residents. Just been listening to the radio on the way in to work this morning and they were interviewing some residents and they were all fuming about this, saying it's gonna effect their house prices and complaining about where they are gonna walk their dogs. Think this is gonna be a major sticking point for the whole proposal.
If the whole project is handled properly though, there is no reason why they couldn't keep the existing leisure facilties (the Liverpool Lifestyles gym and the football pitches) and improve on them, and keep most of the green space too, I mean it is a pretty big park.
If it brings 1000 jobs to the area, new houses, shops, restaurants and nice new facilities in the park, then I can't see how it is a bad thing for the area immediatly around Walton Hall Park.
A new stadium could fit into just a quarter of the park!
I used to live in the estate off the park, so I can personally testify that the local area certainly needs regenerating.
