I didn't say that I said we Need to look at other ways to pay for it.
Lets not buy players aye to pay for a new stadium whilst other clubs do and if we get Injurys it's fine like.

Agree mate the last thing we want to be is newcastle- good stadium but crap team. I wouldn't sacrifice building on what we have in terms of player's like lukaku, mirallas, barkley etc.

What I will say is though I assume so much of the TV deal is going t pay off our debts with a small leftover left for bobby for transfers. I wonder with rumours of a large amount of our debt been paid off means we will just use the part of the TV money kept aside for debt repayment to be used on the stadium instead?

The thing is though, if we increase revenue, we have more to spend. That's the "alternative" you speak of, or do you have a magical miracle cure for how Everton can make more money to spend on players?

Its the corporate facilities that are needed, not the seats for the average supporter.

How much can we realistically expect from corporate entertainment? There isn't a huge amount out there, but the Guardian suggest that Bolton (when they were in the PL) earned around £2m from corporate entertainment. Bolton's ground is relatively new, so you'd imagine the facilities would not be a million miles away from what we would have, albeit we may have slightly more. They're also a northern club so wouldn't attract the London premium prices either. That may be a relatively reasonable benchmark to work against?

...I'm no economic expert on these things, but as I understand it a move would invite investment. That might be a cloud cuckoo view if there is intransigence to sell, but it is a view regularly articulated.

Sadly, you suspect that is what it takes to really crack the top four on a regular basis.

Me too. I think it will happen this time...hence my only wish is for a proper, world class stadium, and not the board trying their propaganda again, conning an apparently gullible supporter base that an el cheapo £50,000,000 could build you quality!
