New Everton Stadium

I think Chelsea's new stadium design is stunning. I don't think it's quite right as an English football stadium, mind. It looks better suited to Spain or Italy. But kudos to them for being bold and interesting. Very unlike Chelsea.

For us, I hope we go down a similar route, i.e. - not a boring futuristic bowl. I'd love to see something like the cladding of Yankee Stadium - something like that would be perfect for the dock area, and would be a lot more impressive and imposing than any of the boring, grey, generic garbage the RS offer up.

Our stadium design has been said to be unique, iconic, futuristic

Chelsea new stadium design brilliant. Totally unique. Love the brick work etc... to fit in with the local surroundings...yet still a totally modern design.

I like that it's not perfectly round. It doesn't need to be...

I hope our new stadium can be similar in that way. Modern...but with nods to the past and surrounding area. Some sort of incorporated brickwork would be great.

That stadium is ruined by its surroundings. It's crammed in, with the edges snapped off.

Great theory, poor execution in the wrong location.

We won't have that problem on the docks, thankfully.

I'm not into the design of this one. It looks like a snidey ashtray. Get an epilectic fit with all those lines.

I hope Meis and Co can give us something bold and dramatic, not some horrendous concrete abomination. Something that people will instantly recognise. I want something that youngsters will whisper "wooooooww...." as they enter the stadium for the first time.

In all honesty, and I might be wrong here, but I would ignore many of the descriptions given months and months back and just look forward to what will be announced. The design will have been fluid right through the process and may well be greatly removed from the original design for many different reasons, (if there were indeed any original designs)

Trouble with much of this is that different people will have a different interpretation of what those 3 words mean in terms of a stadium. For example, 'Futuristic' to me would suggest a bowl of some sort, sweeping lines similar to that of a Zaha Hadid creation, whereas Dan Meis has intimated that it may be a four sided stadium in a traditional sense.

Iconic? Possibly the most used word of the last 5 years and can mean absolutely anything....

There will always be disappointment on some sides.

thats what Esk told us months ago about that design. But I get your point and you are right.

Meis already stated that it is much too early in the process and the design is not finished, so I think anyone who claims to have seen the design is full of it, I would agree with Jacko on this, however Meis did also state it would be unique and unlike any existing stadia around at the minute, so we just have to wait and hope

Whatever it looks like, 1000's of fans would have a moan.

Just like we have a large number of world class scouts who possess an incredible knowledge of the global game amongst our fanbase.

Everton that.

Surely no design will please everyone. Just look at the range of opinions around the Chelsea one, it'll be much more polarised for our own design.
