New Everton Stadium

Not a lot of progress seems to be being made on this. We were expecting to hear confirmation that we had purchased land during the AGM, but this did not happen, and we were actually told that the dock side site is problematic and that the possibility of moving to Croxteth is still on the cards.

Progress is being made, but it's a long process. If Stonebridge Cross was a solution they wanted, we'd already be there. The dock site will happen, I am 99.5% sure of it.

Yeah, this makes sense. Until BM is officially declared untenable and SBC is announced, it is clear we are still pushing ahead with BM.

No news is fine with me.

I can't be doing with all this talk of stadium design or size. I just want to hear that it's going to happen at the docks. I appreciate the time required to overcome the difficulties en route but I do appreciate your positivity on this matter......

IMO Stonebridge Cross has always been just a stalking horse to
a) keep the fans from discussing the redevelopment of Goodison as a option
b) Negotiations with Peel

The thing is you can hear that it is going to happen on the docks but then you might start to think I will believe it when i see it, so it doesn't matter what they say at the moment. This is a massive project and there will be a lot of working going on well before a spade goes in the ground. Look at the new hospital, that will of been planned for a long time before work started, but how long before worked start did they announce it? It would of been a long way down the line
This stadium is not only a massive project for the football club but also for the North West of England, telling us fans what is going on is the last thing they should be worried about right now

Dan knows.

Dan knows mate ;)...but @The Esk clearly doesn't!
...this is the Moment when Esk realised Dan Meis was our architect!
Is that the Wikipedia source?

And this is the first time somebody called him out on it!

Considering Dan Meis posted on his instagram account late last year that he was excited to be working on a new ground for us, the claim @The Esk made of Moshiri having a few different model ideas in his office and now the fact that it seems Meis has been chosen you would like to think the design stage is quite advanced.

It shouldn't be the last thing they are worried about, but it's certainly not top priority at the moment. Infrastructure builds such as the Royal and others will have been in planning documents for at least 7-8 years prior to becoming a reality and starting on design, then they'll be in design for at least 2 years before starting on site. It's slightly different for private initiatives, but the process is still a very drawn out one. It wouldn't surprise me if BMD was one of the very first things that Moshiri looked at when in the process of the buying the club. That itself took 18 months, and work would have been continuing all through the purchase process. With the amount of money already spent on this venture, he'll be very reluctant to let the opportunity of BMD go.

Good man.
Although unfortunately I've heard that there will be a corporate section at the heart of one of the End Stands. So just one stand corporate free. Hopefully it's a nasty rumour but we could do with some reassurances that it's not true.

Depends what is meant by 'corporate' though I'd imagine. There's a section of the Park End that is premium seating and I don't think something like that would detract too much from the atmosphere if recreated and extended at BMD.

I think we absolutely have to swerve any corporate tier or glass fronted things that break up the stand into two seperate parts though.

Yes I agree. Talking of that area in the Park End. It would be ace if one match they gave it to all the lids, cheap ale in that bar then into their own section where they could stand there at the back middle of the Park End. It would really would set the atmosphere there!

If corporate is integrated well with the stadium design it would be okay IF the stand opposite is a focal point. A big, intimidating one tier stand to balance that out would be acceptable.

To be fair to @The Esk I wasn't actually questioning him about his knowledge. I was questioning @Jacko93 about his thoughts on how far down the line we were in terms of designs. As @The Esk had mentioned a long time ago that he believed Moshiri had designs in his office already but @Jacko93 didn't think we were that far down the line. My mention of the Meis instagram was to back up the info about Moshiri already having designs.
