If corporate is integrated well with the stadium design it would be okay IF the stand opposite is a focal point. A big, intimidating one tier stand to balance that out would be acceptable.
Why behind the goal? Have a massive single tier down one side instead.I want it to be more than acceptable, I want it to be the ultimate. I don't think any team so far has a big intimidating one tier stand behind both goals? I think that would really make people sit up and take notice.
Why behind the goal? Have a massive single tier down one side instead.
It's always been the tradition at Everton and most for our vocal fans to go behind the goal.
Probably more importantly though it's from the team attacking the goal, everyone on their feet in excitement it's gets people going more, adding to the passion there which in turn increases the vocal support.
The support from behind the goal is always increased when the team attack that goal compared to the other half. It's not the same regardless of which way the team is attacking.
The thing is you can hear that it is going to happen on the docks but then you might start to think I will believe it when i see it, so it doesn't matter what they say at the moment. This is a massive project and there will be a lot of working going on well before a spade goes in the ground. Look at the new hospital, that will of been planned for a long time before work started, but how long before worked start did they announce it? It would of been a long way down the line
This stadium is not only a massive project for the football club but also for the North West of England, telling us fans what is going on is the last thing they should be worried about right now
Not true.
Before the 'New' Goodison Road Stand was built...the most vocal supporr/singing was in the Goodison Road paddock
I have considered that as I'm interested in the history of all this, I think it was more a case of the Goodison Rd stopped being as vocal as they were when the new Main Stand came in.
The paddock in the old Goodison Road was huge.
If you ever watch 'Goal' and the Brazil games at Goodison in 1966 you will see the clapping and chanting from there clearly
One of the issues you had with Goodison is that you didn't always hear what was going on in a stand different to yourself. It's generally said that the skinheads moved to the back of the Street End where we are now in the late 60s and that's stayed put til today as the main vocal area.
Prior to that it was the front half of the Gwladys Street. However I know singers who were going at the back of the Gwladys Street in the 50s and through the 60s starting songs off. Prior to then was the War of course then a single tiered Street End, and singing goes back to the start there.
The Boys Pen was also a very vocal area too throughout time.
it was also a f Ing bear pit and a dangerous place to beThe Boys Pen was also a very vocal area too throughout time
