The council as lost 70% of its budget since 2012, with a further £90m due over the next 3 years. The income for the council falls well short of the requirements needed to run the city of services.
The reason his parading himself in front of billionaires is to grow the economy and drive business into the city, the idea is that this income will cover the surplus between what's required and what we get.
The reserves that the council have cannot be used to cover surplus in running the city, that's why they are investing in assets, like FF.
The council has 2 priorities moving forward: grow the economy and protect the most vulnerable; that's it. The only available money will cover most vulnerable for adult and child services every other business area has been told to generate its own revenue.
The government have rightly bent us over. Now I'm no fan of Joe, but I wouldn't like the responsibility of those decisions. He'll put his full weight behind this to get that development off the ground, the same with knowledge quarter and edge lane.

Dont implement the cuts. That's what the call should have been. WTF is the point of taking office if you;re going to do the work of that lot for them?

Joe Anderson and his mates like Kilfoyle were Witchfinder Generals for Kinnock when he was going after good people on the council who were creating jobs, houses and leisure centres for the people of Liverpool. He has a loooooong history of doing the bidding of those in power and acting against the best interests of ordinary citizens of Liverpool.
Pick up a book on Liverpool's political history mate and have a read. You might get half a clue of what you're talking about.

For those of us who live outside of Liverpool he has been the only indicator of 'stadium progress'. Dan Meis hints at what could or couldn't be but thats all we get.
The club have been almost silent except for confirming possible options & that funding is closer to being secured. It seems strange that the club have not clipped the wings of them both so must be ok with the drip feed we get from them.
