New Everton Stadium

They're really worrying about the ships on these phone ins lately, we have over seven miles of docks. lol

Besides if they take the time to visit, they'll get plenty of opportunities to view cruise ships and ferries from our third ground we've built.

Anderson says that the stadium could host the Commonwealth Games.

Not too sure about that.

I want a football stadium that's ours not a multi purpose event stadium which has no atmosphere.

Am I the only one starting to get real worried about this commonwealth games talk nonsense and our new stadium being part of it? How will it work exactly? If we are due to be playing there from the 20/21 season as they say... that's 2 years before the games.

Hope to God we don't have a part athletics stadium for 2 years and covert it after!!!

Ye that needs swerving bigtime!!

I highly doubt we will have an athletics track at the new stadium. The amount of tweets that Dan Meis has sent/liked with regards to close to square, close to the pitch, steep stands - its definitely not going to.

No, you're not.

Apart from the "We want something new and shiny" feeling, failing to see the point of setting out to build something which will still leave us behind Spurs and others in terms of capacity. And if it also has to cope with Anderson's mad schemes, it looks like being a pig's ear.

However, will take it on trust from Elstone that capacity is still up for discussion and that someone at the club has the sense to see a conversion job, post athletics, is a waste of time.

Yeah I'm not too fussed about the capacity as I think the capacity stated in the document was a starter for 10 so to speak, and that this will Increase once consultation is taken place.

But all this talk of the games is worrying me, only way I could accept it is if there is no athletics track and the games don't alter the structure of the stadium. So maybe it could be used for opening/closing ceremony...

But saying that Liverpool may not even be hosting the games!!

"What if we need more docks area in the future?
"No council should ever be a guarantor for a private business"
"What if Everton get relegated, then relegated again?"

Hope so on both accounts. We'll see.

It's pretty much nailed on Birmingham would get it. Better infrastructure, got the London Olympic bid team working on it and about to complete a feasibility study into holding it.

Even so, a new build could take the possibility of having a track included at a later date if need be. Wembley could have a track installed within two weeks if need be at a reduced capacity.
