New Everton Stadium

So why did that make Kirkby a good idea ?
Because we would have got a brand new stadium, I know it would not have been the emirates, but it would have been a real stadium planned by real people. Not the pie in the sky ideas or total negativity that people on these forums go on about. Tell me another option we have had ,who was going to pay for it and were it was going to be.

The off the shelf Kirkby stadium would have been falling down by now.

A brand new stadium that would have given us an extra 6 million per year if we had filled it every week. Not really worth it and would have not covered the interest payments.

It was a cheap as chips stadium and Kirkby does not have the transport infrastructure to cope with the match day traffic.

Don't waste your time my man. There is an element of the supporter base that just don't get the facts. Easier to deal with fantasy.

See Coventry City and their shambles of how the local authority had too large a say in he management of the stadium.

The details had many hidden caveats, we would have been stuffed in the corner of a car park for a grocer, a grocer that isn't going to be thrre now.

You're obviously excluding the thousands of bike riding blues?

I remember the great Dominic King hailing Coventry as the blue print for Everton during the Echo's club
propaganda campgain,hows that going Dom?

It was pie in the sky though mate. They may as well have applied for permission to build a 200,000 capacity 8 sided mega complex. It didn't get past the planning process so it was a dream that never came to fruition.

It gets my blood boiling that there is still Evertonians, Today, Years after it collapsed.
Who still are unaware of the details of the Kirkby debacle.
It's not hard to find the documents that explain the details of the inevitable outcome.
Don't waste your time my man...
