New Everton Stadium

That's why I don't really understand the obsession on here with 60k +

So instead of trying to match Spurs et al you'd rather that we built a small 42,000 stadium that sold out every single week and thus lost us potential revenue?

We don't want to be turning away paying fans. We need to be maximising our revenue streams wherever possible.

If we were the biggest club in the country, bringing in most revenue from outside sponsors then stadium capacity would become irrelevant for us too.

They had a big stadium that they couldn't fill so they had to downsize. (Admittedly the running track probably didn't help)

If we build a 40k stadium, that's just another x amount of millions per season we will fall back compared to the rest of our contemporaries that we are trying to make up ground on. If the TV market collapses and we go back to stadium income being a bigger slice then we are in even more bother. Savvy?

To be fair Anfield has a massive park next to it that's perfect for homogenised FIFA festivals of plastic.

World Cup, Commonwealth Games whatever, none of it should, and I'm certain it won't, enter our thinking.

Every week me and my dad walk through Stanley Park, we always wonder why the council dont have some sort of fan park for both clubs

No 42k would be too small but I would be happier with a more intimate, atmospheric 50-55k stadium then something like the Emirates.

Excellent point.

Even after the recent massive increase in TV money, ticket sales still account for over a third of our income.

Did anybody speak to Meis at the Dixies last night? Cant believe nobody has posted any rumours from last night? So disappointed!

Spurs are in a different situation though. They are a London club with a far better chance of attracting more tourists. They have also challenged at the very top of the league recently and played CL football recently too.

That said, there is no way the Stadium will be any less than 55,000 and it will most likely be around the 60,000 mark because as you have pointed out, Moshiri is ambitious and wants us to challenge the other clubs, not settle to be at the same level as Newcastle United.

Will Joe Anderson's political demise have an effect on the deal being conducted?

Joe jumped ship on the mayorality post expecting to be shoe-horned into the safe as houses Walton MP job and stay close to the action here in the city and maybe influence matters from Westminster. Now he's fallen between two stools due to his careerism this might impact upon us at BMD.
