New Everton Stadium

Will Joe Anderson's political demise have an effect on the deal being conducted?

Joe jumped ship on the mayorality post expecting to be shoe-horned into the safe as houses Walton MP job and stay close to the action here in the city and maybe influence matters from Westminster. Now he's fallen between two stools due to his careerism this might impact upon us at BMD.

No, it's been signed and he's still Mayor. It's guaranteed income for a city which is struggling to plug gaps, approved by cabinet and Finance.

It'll never be pulled

No 42k would be too small but I would be happier with a more intimate, atmospheric 50-55k stadium then something like the Emirates.

The problems with the Emirates are caused mainly by the design, not the size. ie -

1) The rake of the lower tier is too shallow (caused partly by the excessive leg room between the seats) which results in poor sight lights from the lower tier.
2) The stands are too far away from the pitch anyway which means the upper tier is miles away from the pitch,
3) The "ring of silence" middle corporate tier going all the way round the stadium which stops any atmostphere spreading between the different tiers.

All these things could be avoided in a stadium with a similar capacity.

Three years?!!!

FFS, he was willing to jump ship from that post and now he has the ability to just sit back and ride out the time in a job he was willing to back heel?

What a palaver.

He's got zero credibility.

TBF, he outlined his reasons as to why he did what he did.

Given that he had reasons for leaving: they still stand dont they? So why would he lounge back into his Mayor's chair again?

He's bankrupt politically. I think Anderson will depart the scene soon.

Excellent point.

Even after the recent massive increase in TV money, ticket sales still account for over a third of our income.
Even more reason for us to build a new facility allowing us to spend more and more of our hard earned cash on booze and food thus helping the club's coffers, as opposed to an average spend of 28p per fan which is probably about the current figure. I really can't agree with anything other than to build a quality 60,000 stadium to take the club forward.

To an extent but we are compromised in terms of rake in comparison to sides from other European leagues because of guidelines issued post Hillsborough. I understand Spurs are pushing these to the absolute limits so we will have a clear indication of where we stand next year
