I like the sentiment but the bigger the capacity the more expensive the final seats become. It costs more to build seats high up in the gods and they have the worst views and subsequently you get to charge the lowest prices for them. Building those costly seats with the lowest return also means we would have to take on a bigger debt and means we would have less money to spend on players for a longer time frame.
Personally I think it would be more sensible to go for a modular extendable Stadium of around 50k, pay the debt down more quickly and as the revenue streams increase extend the Stadium. At the moment we only sell out because we have very cheap season ticket prices especially for younger fans.
It might not be as exciting but it is more financially prudent and puts the future of the Club at far less risk. Especially when you take it account the groundswell of support for safe standing.
