New Everton Stadium

No.

It's all about sponsorship.

Sponsorship is where real money lives. Ticket sale are fine. Boxes are good. Sponsorships are best. How much do Tottenham make off their corporate boxes every year as compared to their sponsorships? In fact...for any rich team is the money generated by Stadia greater than the money generated by sponsorships? I can't be asked to look that up right now. But sponsorships generally are the big money, because they are a form of advertising, which large corporations generally have a greater budget for than for amenities like corporate boxes.

I know of a major multi billion euro pan european company not far from goodison that has boxes at local sports teams including rugby league teams; who were considering facilities for corporate hospitality including meetings and events outside of football. Looked at Anfield (in their words "tatty") and Old Trafford.

Companies will only come to us when we have the faciltities to host them. Then they will be more inclined to give us money and publicly associate with us.

My tuppence worth.

Board (bk). Ruled by heart not head, risk averse and conservative. Expects investors to donate due to love of club rather than business reasons. Naive. Hard to tell if through fear of overstretching and f......ing up and doing a leeds or lack of drive. Probably bit of both.

Stadium. Goodison can be redeveloped on current footprint offering boxes and seating increase for extra revenue. Seen the plans somewhere on the forum.

Whether the corporates want to come and hang out with the whinging working class victims of our fanbase is another question. may be some truth in that having just read some of these defeatist posts.... Not sure of the fan demographic and or purchase power of fans, but away following is unquestionably great, suggesting attractive customer base. Or more likely. Build it and they will come. Costner style. Global fanbase is growing. We seem to be the trendy choice state side.

So.

Grow revenue. Wow. Rocket science.

Redevelop Goodison.

Stop being whinging victims. Be positive and stick together.

Understand the board (luckily) are mostly fans not dragons.

Ironically this could be beneficial. Investors could see huge room for growth provided they assume control and Bill steps down.....

Last part is the trickiest.

Slightly off topic but, those wishing BK would do one I can understand BUT, only 2 takeovers of prem teams have actually poved successfull and that is Sh1tty and Chelsea. The rest have not done anything other than sell their souls and or gone backwards.

Yes, Bill needs to go but would rather him than Venkys, Ashley, Gaydamark (SP), Lerner, H&G, etc.

Just who does everyone want him to sell us to?

A new stadium helps attract better sponsorship & improves the corporate image.

At the very least it would show we are moving forward and have tangible upward mobility & aspirations.

Sunderland have more lucrative sponsorships now then they did when they were at Roker Park.

City have more lucrative sponsorships now then they did when they were at Maine Road.

Arsenal have more lucrative sponsorships now then they did when they were at Highbury.
