New Everton Stadium

The film reference I mean. The last film I watched was probably Jungle Book.

So is it a good reference point, or not? According to Stamp. (whoever that is)

Cross that bridge when we come to it. We are in no position to be demanding we compete with the top teams in the country in terms of our ground.

We won't have the money to do anything at that point as we will still be paying for it. 2nd and 3rd mortgages don't tend to end well.

This potential 'downscaling' of the stadium capacity has nothing to do with the owners believing in 'Little old Everton'

It is purely for financial reasons - We don't have the money to build anything bigger - and are struggling to get the funding together to build ANY type of new stadium - Never mind a bloody massive one

If that is the case I'm sure most people will accept it. I don't want to see Everton go bust so if they can't afford it I wouldn't want them to overstretch. We've had the club (well more specifically Meis) give out indications it would be 60 (or more) and now it seems there has been a change in that, the club would be better coming out and say while we were looking to build 'x' we can now only go up to 'y' due to the challenges of the current market. But that is the thing we could be moaning for no reason as it might end up being 55/58 or even 60k anyway. I have no issue with people saying they would like 50 something so we spend the minimum on it and have more for players or the smaller the capacity the more intimate it will feel, what irks the hell out of me is people saying we won't fill it and even if we don't for the lesser games, does it matter? If we build a 50k one and we get a few games at 48k does that mean we should get the bulldozers in to knock part of it down? Doesn't make sense to me.
