New Everton Stadium

Well don’t I look silly

But the point still stands really. Point is, it’s really not that big a deal if there’s a couple thousand extra seats, just so we can go “ha we’ve got a bigger stadium than you”. I don’t buy the envy angle.

Obviously we shouldn’t be too short sighted, so hopefully the site will give room for expansion, but at this moment in time 55k is more than enough.
I’d be made up with 55k myself. Big increase in capacity on Goodison and a miles better stadium, in a much better location. Under 55k is a no from me though

I'm more worried about Joe Anderson then the capacity, he seems to be more unpopular then I realized. I don't worry about him shaffing us but I do worry about a campaign to stop the council's roll in the funding

I would be happy with a 55k brand new state of the art stadium, Not much fun being stuck behind a concrete pillar or being at the back of the lower bullens.
This. 55k has to be considered the minimum we go for. The positioning and design of the stadium will make it stand out and unique, and if this comes at the cost of 5k seats then so be it.

At 55k the stadium will always be full and the increase in capacity (coupled with the hospitality arrangements), from the calculations I have seen, will make the stadium costs self serviceable over time. The infra structure being put in place will also make the venue attractive for other events.

Anything less than 55k will be an opportunity missed.

I don't see why Joe should matter really. Obviously he's pushing it more than anyone, but if the deal is exactly how we're told it is then anyone at the council who says no to the deal would be saying no to millions of pounds of income a year. If the deal is as clean as we're told, and the club want it, then I don't see any reason why it shouldn't go through no matter who is in charge. Even the most bitter RS politician wouldn't be able to ignore the financial benefits surely?

Agree with most of that reply, but not sure if it will always be full. If we see another few seasons like we have seen with Martinez, Koeman and ruddy Allardyce people will soon be put off, I certainly was with the latter but just about managed to stomach the other 2 clowns.

Season ticket sales for next season outsold previous year whilst Allardyce was still there mate. OK, I know the majority were hoping he'd be replaced but people still renewed amongst all that uncertainty. We would sell 40k ST for new stadium, I've no doubt. None whatsoever. Another 5k hospitality. 3k away fans. That's 8k to make up each game.

Don't underestimate the attraction of a new stadium.

500million for an extra 12,000 seats.

That's pretty much a poor deal for all sides, it has to be 60,000 to justify the money spent

Why?! We’re not just paying for seats. Have you seen Goodison??
We’re paying for a state of the art stadium, in an iconic location. And the revenue streams will be through more than just extra seats. Corporate boxes... better sponsorship deals... etc etc

Ever since the new stadium was mentioned we’ve broke ST sales despite what’s gone on pitch wise.
This is purely down to fans wanting to secure guaranteed seats at Bramley Moore. We just need to make sure we can capitalise on location, corporate business and tourists to fill some of the remaining seats. I worry 5 years in to a new ground if we’re struggling then numbers may dwindle but that’s down to our management and ownership to worry about.

In this day and age now though I can’t see how we can build a state of the art ground with less than 55k.

So, just to clarify... People are now complaining about the capcity because we've had news to suggest the stadium is still on track?

Just be happy it is looking likely that it will happen. It will be bigger and better than our existing stadium in every apsect.

We should aim for the sky not something that’s going to limit us.

Spent the last 25 years agreeing to things that limit us as a club. Please see the Kitbag deal.
