New Everton Stadium

IF’S and buts! The whole country would suffer IF that happened. I don’t enjoy taking the kids sometimes in our creeking, uncomfortable terrible views stadium. I want state of the art, great views, great concourse and I guarantee a lot more of my money will be diverted into Everton FC
But isn't that exactly what you will be getting with a 50-55k stadium. To dismiss ifs and buts from commercial decisions is unheard of. I take it you didn't budget when you bought your house? Why do you think businesses are different?

Business is massively different from a buying a house. You honestly don’t want me to explain why though?

55.000, 15,000 more than goodison, tickets are now on general sale for the Southampton game, I realise the first few years everyone will want to see the new ground, then what? would we always fill up against the brightons, palaces, and fulhams midweek

Not many left tho and all rubbish seats , but bet its a sell out well before matchday.

if we build a 60k stadium we will end up with a West Ham scenario where they scrabble around, touting out the last 5k+ of tickets for £5 each. They can get away with this as they lease their stadium for peanuts.
As others have said, the extra 5k seats will cost an awful lot more than the previous 55k seats due to the site. If you are then discounting these tickets because you cant fill them at full face value then you are affectively losing money, not making a return on your investment. The club will have done all this work, and arrived at a capacity they are confident they can fill and make a significant return on the investment. a return that goes back into the club to strengthen other areas.
The club has no obligation to build a stadium to a capacity to fit in every fan that wants to attend. Some fans will only want to go if they can get cheap tickets and the club has no obligation to invest the extra money required to give people discounted match tickets. It just makes no business sense.

If future demand goes up way past 55k, then the ticket prices will just rise, generating a bigger return for the club. Fans may not like it, but it's basic business economics.

So, just to clarify... People are now complaining about the capcity because we've had news to suggest the stadium is still on track?

Just be happy it is looking likely that it will happen. It will be bigger and better than our existing stadium in every apsect.

Don't understand this mindset at all to be honest. Should you accept a Honda Civic just because it's better than your old Ford Fiesta, even though you have the opportunity to buy an Aston Martin?

who says we have the opportunity to buy an aston martin? Do we have £1bn to build something like Spurs or Chelsea? no. We are building what we can afford. wake up.
Or are you happy to see your season ticket double in price to help fund it? no. didn't think so.

I want Amber herd to sit on my face. It's not going to happen though. There's a big difference between wanting something and the reality of being able to have it.

Only Everton could build a new stadium smaller than Liverpool’s even before they do another extension. 52k would be an utter death knell.

Jeez mate, getting a tad dramatic there. Surely it’s about getting a World Class Stadium, do you really care that much if the capacity is a bit lower? Would it really be the death knell? Are you more concerned about getting one up on the cult or getting a World Class stadium the envy of the country? This is about us, not them. The Club must have done all their research into the capacity. Do you honestly think that if they’re gonna build a new ground and they could throw an extra few thousand seats at it and would bring more revenue in that they WOULDNT do it?

Does safe standing increase capacity? Like if a section has 5k seats, would that go up to 6k with safe standing.
At the moment they're planning for an all seater at 55k but should rules change, the whole new lower gwladys could be safe standing and maybe ad an extra 5k?
Maybe they're future proofing?
