New Everton Stadium

We're talking 5k extra seats though to make it up to 60k, not the San Siro.
In that case let's add another 20k seats!

It is not a simple as increasing your order for plastic seats. The stadium needs to be resized to accommodate them. You're talking at least tens if millions to achieve this. As we are looking for funding, it should be clear to you that we don't have unlimited funds.

55,000 is plenty for now, as long as they design something that can be added to should the need arise.
Goodison is land locked so we can't do a lot there, BMD will have lots of space to expand if we have to.

Agree to the point that the stadium could and should be able to be increased in capacity (I suggested that several months ago myself)

However my concern is the bit where you said about being land locked.

We are building on a side that literally can only be built on one side - the other three are water. Doesn't get much more land locked than that. Weve got a footprint but theres not endless space. There wont be a car park or hotel or alehouses or anything.

Its going to be pretty basic id imagine and unless we are very careful planning the original design we wont have space to develop.

Billion
Not sure if anybody is asking for daily updates. A monthly update should not be out of the question. DBB and Harris haven't said a dickie bird have they? That key principles document was at least 6 months late. Dan Meis looks like hes been told to keep off Twitter. He still hasn't updated the stadium blog on his website since September 11th last year. Patience! I think fans have been extremely patient with the custodians of Everton Football Club. Evertons default setting has always been and still is tell the supporters nothing.[/QUOT

Billionaires don’t give out monthly updates on their plans
It’s secrecy that got them their millions and helps them keep it

You're creating a strawman argument, nobody is saying add 20k are they? That's you just trying to negate my point.

If we're building a brand new stadium, it has to be around 60k, not around 52k. If you can afford a 52k seater but not a 60k seater, I'd suggest waiting till you've got the money to build what you actually need.

Didnt Juve build a new ground with a lower capacity than their old place, but now have an ace atmosphere? Not saying we should do that, but the capacity is still only one aspect of how ace a ground is. #wembley #emirates
Exactly, wouldn’t get to preoccupied and getting my knickers in a twist over capacity, I can’t see us being that short sighted to have less than 50k seater stadium because all indications point that is the least we need. If the (what we assume 55k) is not enough I’d be made up, but I’d also go for quality over quantity here..

That's what we have been doing for almost 20 years. We aren't going to generate that sort of money for the foreseeable future.

This was telling.

Personally I’d be more than happy with 55-58k.

What major difference financially would 5000 seats make
At 600 puns a season ticket that’s 3 million , not a lot in the grand scheme
I know the pride in having a 60.000 seat stadium and I’d like a 61878 capacity , but does it make a major difference financially
500 corporate seats would deliver more financially than 5000 season tickets seats

I think Disaster is a bit strong.

I am no expert, not even a little bit, but surely the size of the site, plus the height restrictions due to the WHS status/compromise (that still an issue I think), kinda puts a limit on the actual size of the ground. Unless we have tiny seats, but I bet there is some regulation that says what size a seat must be.

Plus the added cost. Lets see anyrate.
Funny you say that about WHS , just read a free magazine (popped in the letter box earlier) theres an article titled "Liverpool retains World Heritige status"
The Mag is called South Liverpool Link.
Tried to screen shot and post it here ,yet it says file too large ??!!....its only a photo ffs.
Anyway thought it would have had a bit more coverage than that but its certainly looking good on that side.

There have been so many twists and turns, its hard to be certain without delving into the thread. But iirc, UNESCO got shirty, Kopites on LCC joined in about Liverpool losing its WHS certificate, but the compromise was agreed height restrictions on the buildings on the dock side.

I think.
