New Everton Stadium

We are small time when you look into things without your blue shades on.

Appoint allardyce - about as low as any club goes

Sign players like tosun

Appoint a manager relegated with Hull and sacked by Watford.

No club above us operates in this way.

We are what we are. Mid table and lacking in any sort of ambition.

I dunno, BBN.

United have just hired a guy who wa# both relegated abd sacked at Cardiff.

And they seem to have signed more expensive versions of Tosun :(

There are a few things to consider when discussing the BMD capacity. How many clubs with ground capacities equal to, or greater than 52k sell out
very often? Man Utd is the only one I can think of, and I bet that we wouldn't often sell out at 55k, or even 52k.

My priority is having a stadium with 'character' to use a real estate expression. 52k, or even, say 47k in such a stadium would be fabulous.

I went to Goodison about 3 or four times with crowds of over 70k - the biggest was 74k plus v. Charlton - and my point is that none of those were actually
at capacity.

We still didn't sell out often when the capacity was 56k after the present Main stand was built, and remember, there are a lot fewer people living in Liverpool
than then.

I remember reading a suggestion some time ago that crowd sizes at football matches would fall with technology eventually creating a 'virtual reality' viewing
experience without having to be there. I don't doubt it. Just a few thoughts, and I'm sure there are other things to consider

We all know the 62,000 upgrade figure is nonsense to shut up the fans that thought that would be a minimum - 'Big iconic stadium on the Mersey'.

The club should be straight with us, the ground they are proposing and building will be 52,000 end of - many bigger grounds in the Premier League by the time it will be built (At least 8 I think). Very disappointing.
Apart from willy waving, why does it matter if 8 other teams have a larger stadium than us?

Well they can make more money for starters
Less than 10% of revenue comes from matchday income, so it’s not that important in the scheme of things. I would imagine broadcasters (especially overseas ones) would be more inclined to televise matches which have a full stadium and lots of atmosphere, so there would probably be more money to be made from that than there would from a couple of thousand extra fans paying reduced prices.

We don't know what's round the corner... Match day income could become vital again

Dunno, theres money to be made, but it normally involves ripping off your fans with disgustingly high ticket prices.

Is the increase in capacity due to more stands or a re-configure from seating to safe standing?

Feels like there's a lack of information on why the proposed ground is the size it is. There's a lack of information on how the expansion in capacity would happen. There's a lack of information in terms of cost of a 52k stadium versus a 52k then expansion to 62k versus a 62k stadium.

None of us know if we could fill a 62k stadium most weeks. I think we would on occasions but not that regularly. I think 52k we would fill every game. That's just a hunch though. That's not based on any research. The club will have done extensive research and will know the pricing structure for the new ground. Who know's they might be planning to lash another 100-200 quid on a season ticket once we move. That could have a massive impact on attendances.

Basically what I'm saying is that there are too many unknowns due to a lack of information on the decision making. The club would do well to be more transparent. In the meantime I think we need to trust the club's decision making. Even if we don't all agree with it on face value.

Match day income says the clubs with new grounds can raise prices (and still have a small proportion of cheap season tickets), because people will pay more or else if they are not quick enough to buy them will end up on the waiting list.

Interesting to see Chelsea so high on the list considering their stadium is similar to ours in capacity. It seems ripping off tourist fans is a more effective income stream than just bums on seats.

Possibly, not sure. That could explain why they are so high on the list. Maybe we should be doing that, it's a pretty good location ;)

But Chelsea has Landon prices also and good corporate , Arsenal are so high cos they utterly fleece their fans, plus they have good corporate, United is so high cos of sheer volume, plus they make their fans buy every ticket for every game, plus corporate, Spurs is solely down to Landon prices I think, not sure WHL has decent corporate? But of course that figure will rocket once they move into their new ground.

But yes, BM is a very good location, im pretty sure the club and its "partners" will be all over what a prime location the site is, almost certain they will be looking at making it a 7 days a week location.

Why would build a hotel by the new ground if there's nowhere for tourists to sit in the new stadium!!

I would guess that 52,000 is about right. You want to build exactly as many seats as you’re positive you can fill every game. As several people noted, ticket revenue isn’t the primary source of income for any PL club so atmosphere is much more important than a few thousand seats you may only sell some of the time.

Also it seems to me like planning permission to expand the stadium later would be a bit easier since it’s not in a residential neighborhood like GP or the pit.
