New Everton Stadium

But the stream is still broadcast on normal TV somewhere. Currently, each region pays a fortune for this privilege, as they end up making profits from advertising revenues. Advertising agencies don't care if a subscription is being paid, they just want people to see their adverts, and the prospect that their advert will be seen all over the world will be seen as a bonus to them.

This internet TV thing will eventually make geographically limited broadcasting rights redundant, imo. If it does, then you would expect a decrease in the amount of TV money as more and more geographically based TV broadcasters throughout the world realise that they are losing out to internet based alternatives.

What will the clubs do to get round this? I do not know, but clubs having their own TV channels does not seem far fetched. They would then benefit from the actual advertising that takes place during the game, which brings in even more money than what the broadcasting rights currently cost. If the clubs can't have their own channels, then the PL will have to make their own, and they will have to do a little bit of work in managing and administering the advertising gold machine.
The other regions pay a fraction of what sky and bt do.

Sky also advertise on the football but also take in a huge amount in subscription so by essentially making it free with advertising the clubs would loose this subscription money.

That's not even taking into account that the main reason why sky and bt are paying so much is because they're in both a TV war for subscribers and more importantly a broadband war.

If sky and bt didn't exist our revenue would fall off a cliff and majority of our money would be on match receipts. Time to build a stadium me thinks :-)

I've presented a plan that financially makes sense. I also think it's a plan that the current board are probably proceeding with. Let's hope so for the club's long term viability.

This board has never had a plan, go back to the inspectors Kirkby report and read what she says about them.

Is this just a points scoring exercise for if and perhaps when planning permission for WHP is declined ?
I remember a similar scenario unfolding, with Kirkby and the counter proposal of the loop site.
Hmm.

For planning permission to be declined firstly it needs to be lodged.

Even IF, and thats a big IF, it does get lodged then the same 'experts' are in place for the other two failed stadium bids, the Bellefiled fiasco and the Everton Place debacle.

The clubs don't get any subscription money, Sky do. The offering of free sports packages with internet service providers has already begun with BT, this is because their advertising revenues more than cover the cost of the TV rights. BT still paid a shed load of money for the rights, nobody was arsed about a lack of subscribers.

Paid for TV sports packages are on their way out. It may take a bit of time (up to 15 years) but they are on their way out. But as I said this is Sky's problem, not the clubs' problem, as the PL demand is still there. You are going to be left disappointed if you are expecting a new stadium under the current administration.

Sky get the subscription money and use that to pay the premier league. So yes indirectly we get subscription money.

It's a loss leader for BT, the advertising doesn't come close to paying for it. They're engaged in a war with sky over broadband subscribers, same as cable (it's the reason why cable dont get all the channels).

There's no guarantee this money will last, in fact it's more likely not to and it's the clubs that aren't reliant on it when it ends that will be in the best position to take advantage.

Yet another reason for the focus to be on recapitalising the club not saddling it with debt funded refurbishment or new stadium.
