New Everton Stadium

...oh, and her predecessor, Elstone:

"There are football clubs out there that are facility led. The Emirates is a good example of a facility that is generating a lot of cash. Old Trafford makes a phenomenal amount of money on a match-day and we have an opportunity now to try and close that gap."

...so just them then.

Lol.
LOL

You had to dig through quotes of someone nowhere near the club to find something that might support your absurd statement. Oh, and decided to take 2 statements from leadership about how important the stadium would be and parlay that into what they didnt say. Your ability to take what someone has said and twist it reading behind the lines what was never there is truly amazing as always, our CEO said nothing about that, and our CFO said nothing about a stadium lead recovery.

LOL at living in the past with Elstone.

Been having a proper look at the videos that are about now and more excited than I was, decided to stick some pictures in from the videos at the points where I looked and just thought 'yeah, that's quite impressive.'

It really does look amazing. I think I was just maybe hoping for/expecting 1 big dominant stand to symbolise the main stand. I had then, in my head, developed the idea that the initial drawings were basic space concepts and that the final release would include the additional enlarged stand. And with all the Blue Wave talk, I thought it was going to be designed into the roof above the mainstand, which would stand tall over the water and the rest of the ground, something you see 1st as you approach like you do with the mainstand at Goodison, especially given the unusual shape of our current mainstand, which I still think looks amazing and unique to us.

But I guess that would be nitpicking given how spectacular it looks.

Silly question as this may be -and I image it'll be best asked to the Spurs fans on this site- how does this compare to Spurs new ground relative to proximity to the pitch? Are we literally at the maximum allowed which seemingly no other club have so-far built towards?

If so then I guess there isn't much I can argue with and/or question- if its the max we are allowed, its the max we are allowed :)

I don’t know specifics, but that will be required to meet UEFA requirements. They have to block off the first few rows at anfield for CL games I think - certainly on the Kop anyway.

As I understand it, the closeness to the pitch limit is a FIFA/UEFA guideline, not a rule. We've deliberately ignored these guidelines for our north and south stands, which means we're not in an ideal position to become a world cup host stadium if England ever hosts. I can live with that, and actually I reckon FIFA will bend its rules to accommodate a stadium like ours, but if they don't it's not the end of the world.

As to how close it is compared to BMD, looking at the pics I'd say goal lines it looks about the same, but you've done a better job getting closer to the touchlines. We're probably limited there with the NFL requirement.

Stand steepness limits, especially if you're going to implement safe standing, is a rule and one which a stadium architect would be stupid to break because it risks the ground not getting a safety certificate.

I think that's exactly what it is, space at the back of that stand looks massively limited. Compared to the original renders though where it looked absolutely tiny I can well put up with the design shown yesterday.

Maybe in time though they could add a few thousand seats and have the stand overhanging.

Especially the stand next to sewage works.

As if they've be bothered we're over hanging.

Great designs

Stadium capacity is 52k and can be expanded to 62k...is that with safe standing or expanded to a 62k seater stadium ?

Does anyone know ?
How did Spurs allocate their season ticket holders when they transitioned to the new White Hart Lane? I'm assuming people who've had their seat at Goodison for the last 20 years will want to keep a similar view?

At Spurs they did it in about 8 different stages.

Group 1.)
People who have been a season ticket holder for 10 years (it may have been 15 years?) and have between (guessing again) 400-500 Loyalty Points get first choice of where they wanna sit (our group of 5 were part of this group and had the first choice of any seat in the stadium.)
IF anybody you wanted to sit with had say been a season ticket holder for say 10 years but only had say 200 Loyalty Points then you had to wait for that persons group to become available before you could all pick your seats.)

Group 2.)
Season ticket holder for 10 years and has between 300-400 Loyaty points...
Etc
Etc
Etc
Etc...
Down to season ticket holders of only 1 year etc etc.

Once all season ticket holders had got a seat if there was any left it they went on offer to club members (i think a small amount did because after a year at Wembley we had around our full quota of season tickets already sold?)
The club could have sold more season tickets but they capped the amount oabailable at around 42,000 so that people who couldn't afford a season ticket still had a fair chance of buying for the odd game they could attend.

We all thought it was quite a fair way to do it.

The new stadium looks amazing but honestly, from now on I'm going the match much earlier than my usual just 5mins before kick off, just to take in everything at Goodison and it's surroundings.

I was 5 when I went to my first match at Goodison and it's been my life ever since, for the past 25 years to be exact.

It's really hit home that not too much in the distant future, the old lady will be gone. Going to be an absolute mess at the last ever home game. It's time to cherish the old lady whilst we still can.

I think that is just a choice. Spurs new ground, for instance, has a section of 7500 that can be converted. They said they intend this to be 1-1 but that they could increase capacity by upto 2000 if they so chose.

Everton's designs/plans are such that they are specifically intended to increase capacity. I think I remember reading somewhere a while back that the optimum increase could be as high as 1.8-1

Not correct. Spurs stated that the maximum would be 1-1 but if legislation IN THE FUTURE was to allow more than 1-1 they would look at doing so (but nobody has ever thought it will ever be more than 1-1 since Hillsborough.)
The Germans do have (Dortmund for instance) standing per seat at around 1.7-1 for league games (not allowed in European games.)

I'm a fan of the ground don't get me wrong - just a little unsure if certain pictures are doing it justice.
Take the attached images below, from viewing it looks to be: pitch, gap, advertising board, gap, 'walkway board', gap, seats to which it seemingly wraps round a high percentage of the stadium

That does not seem close proximity to the pitch, so I can only assume i'm misinterpreting and someone could kindly correct me :)
I think I read in new builds the fans have to be 5M from the pitch

Ha Ha Ha.

Sasha Ryazantsev and Denise Barrett-Baxendale talking about how important a stadium will be to revenues and income in order to get back to the elite - in your world that's not the same as a facility led recovery.

'sake.

Stick a fork in this feller, he's done.
