New Everton Stadium

Spot on

Haven't Liverpool City council got a load of steel holed up somewhere that they bought for the tram that never materialised? Could use that, Unless it's being used for strengthening under joes bed what with the weight of all the money he may or may not take from backhanders.

Way too much distance from the goals to the stand.

That Bordeaux stadium isn't the best anyway, look at the space between the rows it will feel echoey and empty and be hard to generate an atmosphere. Like if you've been to the emirates, there's too much space between the seats and that's why it's a naff atmosphere even in away ends.

The whole "sight lines much better in new stadiums" argument is flawed because they often aren't. The are often worse. Emirates is the classic example - massive gap between pitch and stands and the rake of the lower tier is far too shallow.

Same with all the German stadiums, funded centrally for the World Cup in 2006 weren't they? Trouble is even if England got the World Cup the gov wouldn't fund any new grounds, since they must have enough over or around 50,000 capacity now? Wembley, old Trafford, Emirates, etihad, st James, Olympic stadium, anfield, stadium of light, then the likes of. Villa Park or even millennium stadium could be used?

Been to the Emirates and agree with you, difficult to generate an atmosphere. In contrast, the Allianz in Munich shares similar design with regard to seating they took accoustics into account so the roof was made to amplify the sound of the crowd.
IMHO something like Bordeaux would be a non-starter in any case as it is designed to be multi-purpose for concerts etc, so would be in competition with Echo Arena from day 1.

wasn't as impressed with Lille's as I thought I'd be.

The Echo Arena and a 50,000 seater stadium would service completely different markets in terms of entertainment.

You'd never see Coldplay or One Direction at the Echo Arena but you might see them at a 50,000 seater stadium in Liverpool. Whether you want to see Coldplay or One Direction is another matter like...

Looking ar Bordeux stadium playing the [Poor language removed].... impressive at the cost of £ 130 million ......42000 seater but take that upto 50k
Certainly very practical but dull and boring, like all the modern stadiums that I can think of. I just hope that if we do eventually
leave Goodison that we incorporate some character into the new place, such as, a rectangular shape with quarter circle shaped
corners and criss-cross patterns at the front of the stands. Not hard to do and shouldn't add that much to the cost,

Good point.
What happens currently for big concerts?
