New Everton Stadium

This is all getting embarrassing now. The club should just come out and admit that this is not currently viable and knock it on the head. No one connected with the club is willing to put up the money we would need to get this going.

Nothing from Anderson?

Can't understand why someone won't just give Everton 50m for a new ground

Come on yer minge bags Elstone and Co are skint here

We don't need a new ground though. Plus it has character and history. We should just accept a piecemeal plan of getting the Council to CPO some of the terraced streets around GP to create space. Redevelop a stand at a time starting with the Bullens.

Would get my vote that. If I had one.

The numbers just don't stack up for a new ground. We don't have a 10k waiting list for tickets. Plus GP as a development site is worth next to nothing given the local property market.

Far better to put £2.5m aside to CPO 50 houses at a time and clear the place up. The Bullens Road side is the most pressing but could also offer great potential for some decent new seats, boxes and lounges etc.

No idea about the numbers mate, but I guess that GP has repaid its original build price many times since, taking a more long term view of it.

Like, I know nothing, not even local, but just feel, as a non local, that the importance of, yes two, football stadiums and clubs is an important part of the marketing of Liverpool, the city. They even have signs on the M6 for them ffs.

So it isnt just about if a new one could pay its way, or if a redeveloped one is feasible. It is a very important issue for LCC, and that statement from the mayor, to me, was an update memo to keep the file up to date. Something had to be said, without actually saying anything.

But hey, we will all find out. One day.......

I think the biggest issue with 'we dont have a waitng list' for season tickets is that there are thousands of seats with horribly obstructed views. If we were to redevelop and remove those barriers i think we'd probably sell out almost every match.

We, more or less, sell out every match now mate.

If they analysed how many non season ticket holders buy, say, six or more individual tickets at the moment you'd probably get a good handle on how many people could, fairly easily, be persuaded to commit to a season ticket in a new, or redeveloped stafium.

Liverpool, for example, only have a waiting list because of how much they limit their ST sales and market the remainder of tickets to tourists and day trippers. They sell fewer ST than we do. If we had a board that could actually manage and promote the club commercially I think we could fill a bigger stadium.

Yes, I am a critic of the Board like most, but you give the supporters a team that regularly pushes for top 5 like Liverpool mostly do and that will do the trick as well. Chicken and egg situation unfortunately.

I wouldn't expect us to fill close to 50% of our stadium that way like Liverpool do, but a nicer stadium and some better marketing would likely see us attract more visitors than we currently do.
