New Everton Stadium

Problem with the club is that we know what Kenwright is like and he won't want anyone 'rocking the boat' so to speak, the chances of the club putting any pressure on LCC for an answer are pretty remote id say, we will sit it out and wait sadly.

Kenwright is nothing more than just a face for the club now (boys pen and all that crap) a lackey.

A council spokesman saying 'the volume of paperwork involved means it was never going to be done this year'

Sounds more like, 'weve dragged our heels because we're complete and utter amateurs and we were also hoping Everton would just grease fat Joes hairy palms but now we have to actually read this crap'
Here's the paper work they're diligently going through:

Yeah i'm not sure i agree with that tbh, the whole jobs for the boys culture is still plastered throughout the club and if he was just a face then, really that 'face' could be replaced with anyone and he could step aside as he should have years ago. The way the club stayed silent over the Pickford bashing from the media was classic Bill, he wants to be everybodys mate and not upset people. He is the overseer of everything as Moshiri lives abroad. He may not have the involvement of previous years but to say he is a lackey just isn't true imo.

Not entirely sure what you expect Kenwright, or anybody else for that matter to do to 'push' the planning committee along.

Everton can not influence the decision once the application has been submitted, nor can they be seen to, by foul means or fair. There are many on here that seem to worry that BMD will get caught up in the wrongs of politicians within the city, while simultaneously questioning why we haven't pressured them into making a decision faster.

Que sera sera. The stadium will be built.
I don't expect anything, i honestly could'nt care less about BMD, id rather we sort and build a decent team first, but it's classic Everton this and there was always always going to be an issue with it.

Why is it classic Everton? What we spend on the stadium is not affecting what we are doing with the team. In fact, financially, by building the stadium we can spend more on the team when it is complete. We have to separate our stadium spending from playing staff spending, but we don't have to separate the profits of the stadium from the playing staff. By saying that you don't want BMD to be built, or are just apathetic to it to are indirectly being apathetic to the growth of our football club at all levels.

There will always be a time that we need a new stadium, and by the approach of building a team first will slow both the team build and the stadium build as both will complement the other. Its also perfectly normal to expect Everton, or any other business to concentrate on two things at the same time.

This also isn't an 'Everton issue', it is a global pandemic issue. The process that Everton have undertaken, with their partners has been incredibly thorough and of a high quality. They have done all they can to ensure the safe and timely passing of the application. There may well have been some failing within the planning dept, I cant answer that, but its not Evertons fault.

It's classic Everton as everything we do there always seems to be an issue with it. I have no doubt the stadium will get built eventually at some point.

There is nothing the club can do, they can moan about it but everyone knows with covid it was going to be difficult. Nothing PR about putting in a small request to start making the openings in the dock wall. That was a constructive way to circumvent waiting for a decision on the main application to get things started this year. The council are useless what can you do.

If they wanted to sit on their hands they would have left everything as was and just say they're waiting on the planning permission to come through.
I disagree - simple press releases expressing disappointment and frustration and LCC's continued delays, the economic impact of not getting started and re-iterating the clubs intent to turn sod as quickly as possible. They need to smoke out the decision & force LCC's hand, this could be done, or at a minimum the club should be offering a more robust position on their desire to expedite decision...

Do people really think that shelving a multi billion pound investment in infrastructure in one of the UK’s poorest cities is really an option ?

Even if it’s called in by the government the Boris brigade and his ‘level up the country BS’ will definitely approve this. It’s the only upside I can see with this s*@thouse government especially with Brexit.
