New Everton Stadium

As I said Mate just an aside, still think it will be very, very difficult to refurb GP on the existing FP.

Of course mate and yes I think it may just be too difficult to get it up and running. If we showed some bloody vision over the past 20 years we could have probably achieved something slowly but surely but because no one's ever made the effort the who thing needs a major revamp.

No time to stand still in football because you get left behind very quickly.hopefully those days are long gone now.

Probably been posted but thought the Bill Kenwright comments are worth reading again. Elstone and Everton worked on the posssibility, according to Elstone, without the assumption of takeovers or investment into the club. Now we have Moshiri and now the council will quite probably help too. Kenwright and Woods have funds to invest and posssibly Earl even though he's sold his shares. This could be completed within two seasons I'd hope.

It is very important that Everton fans are encouraged for their ideas and desires regarding a WHP stadium.

Just my personal opinion, I have no insight into what the club/council's thinking is, but I think WHP would be a last resort solution as it's not ideal for the club, fans and the council will face serious objections from local residents plus it flies in the face of their green spaces policy.

So that leaves either a redeveloped Goodison or a yet to be identified site. Redeveloped Goodison would be fantastic but I fear the logistical challenges are too great and a lack of council support.

It would be fantastic if the club could do a deal with Peel for a dockside stadium. That's certainly the boldest (and probably most expensive) option - it would certainly be a huge statement of intent and ambition if it became our preferred option.

I get all the green space queries and such Esk, but have you actually been to WHP ? It is finished mate, you now have dogs running riot off their leads (Some of the owners look like they belong on a leash), kids drinking around the park area (okay okay yes I did that too at one point) and the standard of the football pitches outside the 'private pitches' as I call them are average at best.

Now I understand some people still use the park for jogging etc, but would it really be missed ? This coming from someone who used to play football, going on jogs around the track/path. Potential to redevelop the transport links and the area itself would and should be most welcome, especially for those stuck in the rush hour traffic on queens drive and WHP.
Funny the world we live in because you look at EITC doing such a fantastic job linked to EFC and then when the club as for something back to help us move forward as a club and also to regenerate an area, people oppose it ?

Couldn't a place on Stanley Park across the road be viable ?

Can't Moshi buy up the surrounding houses and businesses and expand the GP footprint? Just a thought.

It would be really complicated if those in the houses affected opposed a CPO then it could possibly take years just to acquire the land adjacent. Not to mention the school and the roads in the area.

construction noise, dust and the inconvenience to those still leaving in and around the area post purchase would also bring its own problems as residence could complain about infringements to their rights having a larger stadium on their door steps. It can be done and if the club take that route we wouldn't see a new ground for about 10years minimum.

Starting afresh somewhere would be cheaper and easier

Yes, reclaim our previous home, burn it, level it, fumigate the area and build a shiny new one.

Someone please make a sticky or thread mark explaining that it isn't as simple as building more seating or expanding the stadium. It would help a lot of blues understand the gravity of the situation better.

It was only half-serious, half tongue-in-cheek question really but still good to see your point
