New Everton Stadium

Location, location, location.

I think they will struggle to get fan support for Stonebridge Cross even if it is a fantastic design within a well thought through mixed development including other bars, restaurants etc. and additional public transport.

It is just another out-of-town brownfield with none of the community of GP and none of the story. It's enough to make your heart go 'meh'.

Having said that, it is potentially a very practical location for a major construction project and that does matter for speed and cost of delivery.

Also nailed on to pass access/egress standards with the motorway right there and all the space around it, plus no major residential. Nearest train station looks like Fazakerly though, might need some transport links.
It's a long way out though, looking at it again properly.

You're straight onto the M57 from there which takes you North and South in the City and that links up with the other motorways, or up and down the East Lancashire Road so crowd dispersal may be strong in their minds. Even Stonebridge Lane takes you North and South, maybe this is the logic behind it?

Wasn't Scotland Road a potential site back in the day?

It's still the waterfront for me, I'd love that. Clarence Dock's a no though isn't it?

Yeah this is what I was thinking of. It's a big thing now which is why a lot of new grounds end up on the outskirts, like Bolton (actually in Horwich), Brighton (actually in Falmer) etc...

Waterfront would be the dream location. Crosby/Waterloo marina would be out of this world. Can't see either happening though. Personally, I'd go for the William Collins playing fields next to Sandhills. That whole area is crying out for redevelopment and transport links would be great.

It's been mentioned before that it's on a slight hill, but that's nothing a decent engineer couldn't figure out.

Ah the bestway plans that where put forward, proposals and counter proposals at the time was mental.

Waterfront is the number one place for me, I don't want this Stonebridge cross site - obviously without seeing plans (or even if its true) it smacks of DK type location to me.

Half-time sub - Robles when we're going uphill, Howard going downhill.

No it's way better than DK but I'd prefer the Waterfront.
