New Everton Stadium

It's 2.5 miles from WHP and 3.5 from Goodison. But going further out obviously - can see it being a big sticking point that it's only just in Liverpool

Green Party has suggested earlier last month that Stonebridge Cross should be new location for Evertons new stadium. Obviously in fear of losing park areas.
I think Stonebridge Cross wouldn't be a good choice. Whilst there's plenty of land by the looks of it, it's a move to the outer ring of the City. Technically in the City (so better than Destination Kirkby) but pushing the boundary. And, it's a big step away from our roots of L4. For me we need to stay in L4 or actually move closer to the City Centre/the Waterfront. Just my preference.

Ah sorry youre right...

What do you think about SC

I think we need a new stadium and have to be prepared to compromise.
This one seems to tick a lot of boxes from the EFC end and - importantly - the Council end.
But a heck of a long way to go. I think Everton have done some work already relating to SC - but ultimately need to show that they can afford it in order to get it moving forward. That's where WHP has fallen down, essentially.

I wonder if the new shareholder will outsource the entire project management and put it in the hands of outside professionals.
One hopes.

I would be gutted if it was SC. I don't see much difference with DK. Yes there are links to motorways but thst would take away the whole matchday experience for me. It wouldn't be the same without a few bevs before and after which would seriously make me consider packing it in

What possible benefits you could see in SC

Location, location, location.

I think they will struggle to get fan support for Stonebridge Cross even if it is a fantastic design within a well thought through mixed development including other bars, restaurants etc. and additional public transport.

It is just another out-of-town brownfield with none of the community of GP and none of the story. It's enough to make your heart go 'meh'.

Having said that, it is potentially a very practical location for a major construction project and that does matter for speed and cost of delivery.

Exactly mate. Imagine being stopped on the Liverpool Rivera to give directions to Stonebridge Cross - It,s a non starter.
Keep it safe...Keep it on the waterfront.
