New Everton Stadium

Now in terms of the size of the uk/whole world the Liverpool waterfront is close to Goodison but i've got a feeling that when the club released quotes a while back that they had identified a site close to Goodison they literally meant close to Goodison (In Walton) - a site that Kenwright said he'd love, the only obvious space available near Goodison is Walton Hall Park unless somewhere in the other direction in Kirkdale is available. I dont think the waterfront is on the cards.

I'm don't live in Liverpool, so I'm using google maps to follow this thread and identify the locations people are talking about - Walton Hall park is easy to find, as are the documents relating to the proposal for the project there with Sainsbury as a partner.

I'm struggling with Clarence Dock - is it the one mentioned here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clarence_Dock_(Liverpool) and marked on google maps as "Clarence Graving Docks"?

Somebody WAAAAAY back in this thread mentioned the Williams Collins playing fields near Sandhills railway station - also easy to find. Nearby is another green space which looks a little bigger than our current home. Garnett Avenue runs down the east side, and Rumney Road West running along the northern edge. Collingwood Close and Brock Street to the immediate south. Bankhall railway station about 400m to the west and Kirkdale station about 1000m to the north. St. Lawrence primary School is just across the road from it to the west. Is this a council-owned park? Is there a reason why it's never mentioned as a possible site?

Apologies for my lack of local knowledge!

Are we going to use the rs unwanted stadium design as well?
To be fair, it looked better than our awful attempt in the Kirkby project.

The new Everton ground in Stanley Park would be a masterstroke and a small victory, wouldn't it?
Don't know if i'd call it either of those things, to be honest... And I'm not entirely sure either club should be allowed to build on what has for so so long been the "divider" between the two clubs...

But, of course, if SOMEONE is going to build there, I'd certainly rather it was us :D

It would be common sense to build on Stanley park as planning permission has already been granted for the rs ground and its not far away from Goodison. Saying that we are Everton and we don't deal in common sense !!!

Yeah, certainly a little bit exaggerated adjectives, those two. But a symbolic sort of win, it certainly would be. Like if Best Korea took control of the DMZ and built a huge monument to Dennis Rodman there.
