I have no reason to doubt any of that and I have seen similar comments posted elsewhere despite the cynicism in this thread.
The question has to be asked...who does this benefit? Does it tick the box for the Mayor because he wants to see Croxteth benefit from a new project ->tick. Does it benefit the club because there is less of a fin impact using a brownfield site ->tick.
oh,... but what about the fans - nope. Relocating to the edge of the city is frankly a joke, we should be on the waterfront or in the heart of the city but no what we will get is some boss drawings in the echo to trick the fans into moving to a brownfield site on the edge of the city.
I'd be interested to see some stats on where fans come from on match day, whether they stick around afterwards, head into town or local pubs. This romantic notion that the stadium MUST be on the docks or city centre doesn't sit right with me. It'd be a right pain to get to and from, and I reckon high on fans list of requirements will be access and egress. Most just simply want a new stadium; the location is largely irrelevant. Certainly is to me.I have no reason to doubt any of that and I have seen similar comments posted elsewhere despite the cynicism in this thread.

The location is largely irrelevant I can't agree with. I agree access is important but it would preferably be not too far from our 'home' if it we do move, more city centre or waterfront based to attract more visitors and business.I'd be interested to see some stats on where fans come from on match day, whether they stick around afterwards, head into town or local pubs. "Earmarked Everton area" ....interesting

We all want something on the river side mate, its just that the land in that area is already ear marked or owned by various parties so it might not be possible due to circumstances beyond the clubs control.
I want a quality arena with a well thought out plan to develop the space around the ground to help boost commercial revenue to help us to compete in the long term.
If that's on the waterfront then great it reality is but if that can't happen what then ?
Lets wait to hear what the proposals are before we go and trash anything that may or may not meet everyone's expectations....you never know you might like what's been put in front of you when it is announced what the plans are....could be to rebuild Goodison park
as long as the ground is not some cheap knock off of the DK design as that concept was hardly iconic was it
All I know for sure at the moment is like others have said the status quo at the moment is not good for the long term health of the club
How about you wait until the new man who's just put up the thick end of £100m, gets his feet under the table and has time to consider all of the options and makes his initial decision, before getting out of your pram and making daft demands about a supposed lack of transparency.Nonsense.
How about the club be transparent and publish it,s proposals and locations under review and let the Everton community speak.

What ever the club announces there will all be people who are not happy... its a case of you can please all the people some of the time or some of the people all the time but not all the people all of the time.
Personally if we get a cheap flat pack stadium on the waterfront that will be as useful as a solar powered touch....to me it's the quality of what's on offer rather than the location that is important as long as its in Liverpool
But that's just me

Mate, how many matches do you get to?
I think this subject is perhaps the only subject for Blues where frequency of attendance adds weight or not (depending upon answer) to one's argument.
