There’s a few reasons I think. If I remember nearly all grounds are oriented that way. One of the reasons I can remember is to do with shadows for tv broadcasts

And besides, we want to present a good product when we are on the tele.

Are you sure you haven’t ‘adjusted‘ that picture. My tape measure doesn’t lie and I reckon there’s not enough room behind the goals for any stands…..
