New Everton Stadium

We just don't know either way do we, and won't either unless things were to come to a standstill.

On the face of things, it's difficult not to conclude that recent developments will have a serious impact on BMD.

Everything seems up in the air for the club at present. But it's not comparable with facing the terror and devastation of war.

Do fans of other clubs escaping this mad world through their interest in football have to calibrate all of their sporting hopes and fears through the prism of human misery too?

I expect not. But this is Everton. We can't have it easy and I cope with that by being philosophical about it all. It's either that or The Samaritans.

Seen recently on a Newcastle United fan forum that none of us have ever been on:

"I'm devastated. That side Eddie Howe has selected tonight is really horrific. Not as horrific as a Yemenese bombing raid, mind you, but devastating all the same..."

With Moshiri's name above the door as "owner" surely the self made billionaire accountant has futureproofed himself and his assets away from Mr Usmanov?

Regarding the funding for the stadium, we are £100m in on a £500m project, I would imagine any other investment i.e banks would like to see us with less money outgoing like wages each week to see a sustainable business so with our wage bill already dramatically improved and other leeches like Tosun, Delph and Sigurdsson going, I don't see an issue with the continuing build.

USM paid for first rights on sponsorship, that means we can always find another sponsor or repay the money if we choose too.

I am more concerned about our Premier League status than us finishing a stadium but compared to the issues with Ukraine, it's nothing.

That must surely only be increased if the expected stadium sponsor (to the tune of £30m for the opportunity alone) is now out of the equation?

The stadium is still 2 years from being ready, the announcements say suspended and not cancelled.

There has always been an element targeting Usmanov and Abramovich and it was always possible sanctions could be levied, this has just speeded up that process. That is why someone who is British owns the club and Usmanov has always been the silent partner.

If things get back on track the sponsorships will start up again, if they don't we've got bigger problems than football to think about.

they've been lurking for weeks, some for a couple of years

The same jokers who said it would never happen then said it wouldn’t get planning permission and that nothing will happen unless the club gets their personal approval of the finance.

Wrong at every stage but they keep coming with an absolute need to be vindicated (I told you so) and we’re all supposed to be impressed.

Oh well clowns to the left jokers to the right and all that

You forgot the one about nobody will be able to get there unless the club provides a sedan chair to each season ticket holder.
