New Everton Stadium

How in gods name do you know that for sure?

He's gonna say Spurs haven't got one yet. EDIT: told ya

I'm assuming the following source is reliable (maybe @RobSpurs can verify or rubbish his credentials?). Several parties have shown an interest in Spurs' naming rights...

Sarah128: "There's been a lot of speculation about the stadium, Alasdair, what's the latest with naming rights do you know?"

Alasdair says:
"From what I can gather there has been various discussions over naming rights but Spurs want to get the best possible deal for a stadium which is one of the world's best and they're looking for a long-term commitment.

"It doesn't appear as if anything is close right now but the club have certainly spoken to various interested parties over the years and continue to do so. It's under the remit of chief financial officer Todd Kline, who joined Spurs last year and has experience of putting together such deals.

"If they could somehow get something tied up before the end of the summer it could be perfectly timed to boost their transfer funds. However, it's already been almost three years since the stadium opened."

The bottom has dropped out of the market. No one is getting big deals

The Allianz arena?

Bayern only get about £6.5 per year. And that’s an enormous club that has the best commercial deals in world football.

So it’s not impossible there’s someone else out there, but I’m highly skeptical

When did Bayern sign that deal?

Sounds to me like it's about 17years old. There's also other issues in relation to that...

Unverified source: "Allianz paid significant sums for the right to lend its name to the stadium for a duration of 30 years. However, as Allianz was not a sponsor of the 2006 World Cup and is not an official UEFA sponsor, the Allianz logo had to be removed during the World Cup and is covered during Champions League games."

They turned it down before the Ukraine conflict erupted.

Make no mistake: that Kopite scumbag Rotheram will have had an ulterior motive in releasing that information. The timing stinks.
Whatever else is up in the air regarding the stadium, I thought the same, the timing seems calculated, along with the unnecessary references to the disassociation with USM/Usmanov.

He was probably just asked a question so answered it. If anything else it'd be trying to get a commitment from Everton over funding given what happened last week and given the city development scene has more stalls than Borough Market.

They are peed off that we are putting a brand new stadium in a great location and not just adding extensions to GP by forcing folk out of their homes.
