Point taken mate. That is a fair point. But I still maintain that Liverpool council don't want Everton to be the primary club in Liverpool. Doesn't fit with the image the city is trying to sell.
Who mentioned anything to do with knocking down houses??? The industrial occupied streets around that site could not cope with the traffic a stadium would bring.
Makes sense Ryazantsev being involved - background in corporate finance in the banking sector I believe.Just a bit of extra info on WHP - it's been dead for a long time. EFC never ever had the money for it and were always hoping for a rabbit out of the hat from the Council - whilst the Council were always waiting for EFC to show them the money. Only reason it got as far as it did was Joe Anderson - and the only reason it's been announced now is political timing.
Our intentionality with a stadium has deffo increased. We're now looking at options where we're coming to the table with suggestions we can actually afford. They may not be quite as exciting as a Kings Dock or a WHP - but they have the advantage of actually being POSSIBLE. Moshiri is the driving force now - I know at least with Stonebridge it's his Russian mate on the Board who is attending meetings etc.
Wasn't Kirkby derided for being a feasible but unambitious plan?Just a bit of extra info on WHP - it's been dead for a long time. Speculation, why don,t we leave it to the professionals to comment on that as neither you or I are in a position to state unequivocally what could and could not be done.
Yeah but it wasn't feasible through our money - it was feasible because Tesco were going to pump millions into it.Wasn't Kirkby derided for being a feasible but unambitious plan?
I think they're trying to make it clear that we won't end up with another Kirkby situationThe statement seems to suggest out of town sites not being considered...
Am I the only one who reads it like that
Does that suggest city centre then?
Wasn't Kirkby derided for being a feasible but unambitious plan?
WHP was canned because we couldn't afford it without other people's money? Not sure I'm reading the situation correctly but it sounds like we only get the stadium of our dreams with other people's buy-in. Go it alone, and we get something watered down?Yeah but it wasn't feasible through our money - it was feasible because Tesco were going to pump millions into it.
Now we're coming with ideas that WE can actually afford.

Money talks, the thing that has happened since then is we are now absolutely minted, people tend to listen to your wants more if you are paying for nice things, not going cap in hand like Kenwright for 15 years.Given the last news at the AGM (?) had the club and council on different wavelengths, this joint statement must be a good sign for the future.

Do you know why they are not naming the sites given we went public with WHP?
