New Everton Stadium

Maybe it is, but it's a weird science. Internal shapes, baffles etc to channel noice.

It's like if your under the dome at St Pauls you can hear something spoken in a very low voice on the opposite side. Daft comparison I know.

@Jacko93 knows a bit more a out what was done with the design for acoustics.
if it is big enough and the correct shape, it will act like a big reflector lens and magnify and redirect the sound, it may need to be that high to give the appropriate redirection and still give the desired shape on the outside

I think it allows the noise to spread better. The problem with the Glwadys is at the back the low roofs prevent the accoustics from spreading I think.
Maybe.

Two of the problems with the lower Gwladys St acoustics are the material and then the angle of the underside Upper which faces back towards the fans.

Why Everton, Alan Bowen and Colin Chong in particular, have never been bothered to attach some sort of acoustical source to the underside to improve it can only be put down to their sheer apathy or incompetence. To think as well that they are heavily involved with this project too.

At the start of the season and over the last few home wins, the noise from the lower stand has actually been quite deafening. After those games my eardrums have been ringing adding considerably to my tinnitus.

It depends on where you are in the ground, and how many fans join in. Quite often I've been in what felt like a noisy Lower Gwladys St, then someone elsewhere says we we couldn't be heard.

The singing (when they do) actually sounds louder from the the Park End for this reason.

I don't have time to check but I think there is actually a segment in the planning documents about the acoustics.

I think Gardocki might have misunderstood, the original version (footprint shown on a recent page 5406) dated April 2018 when Meis came over to St Lukes, was for around 60,000. For the 52,888 the footprint had changed slightly but the height comparisons to existing stadia certainly changed as it's lower and as shown in the photos there are no triple tier.

I was just pointing out there had been three versions of the smaller stadium that would be considered the 'final/official design'. The larger 60,000 version (with 3 tier main stand) was only ever an early concept. This version was ditched long before we went for planning and before the outside design was revealed.

The third version of the design, after Meis left, did lower the roof by a few feet to get below the threshold for 'tall buildings' which was probably at the recommendation of the planners.

"Wot's the acoustics like in 'ere, shall we check it?"

"Ride the punani! Ride the punani!"

"Yeah boi, good acoustics! Booyakasha!"

anyone know if there are plans to have a retractable pitch like the one in Spurs new stadium and I believe Real Madrid are currently doing one at their stadium right now.

It means that we could potentially host major sporting / music events at Bramley Moore without it affecting the pitch.
