New Everton Stadium

This is so inportant. Getting the right location could set us on a path to long term commercial success and high exposure. Building it out of sight out of mind would be a disaster. We need to take this unique opportunity to become the premier club in this city. Hopefully Moshiri is doing the right thing.
Well said mate. Totally agree.

I am 99% certain that such a successful businessman as Moshiri wouldn't be so stupid as to build a new stadium in Stonebridge Cross.

It's the sort of thing I could totally imagine Kenwright et al doing. But thankfully we've moved on from there.

London has world heritage sites and it builds skyscraspers all over them despite UNESCO's bitching. UNESCO is nothing if it has no world heritage sites and isis are blowing many to bits, they need us more than we need them.

We had tourists before and they'll continue to come, there are many reasons people spend time in Liverpool and I've never heard WHS being one of them. It's a glorified plaque on the wall of the Town Hall.

These are the old plans that were looked way back I think?

Therse are the old plans that were looked at way back I think?

Never actually seen them before, nice one.

I think that if Joe is saying they expect us to have a new stadium in 3 years - rightly or wrongly, if thats anywhere near the case we surely will be hearing something in the coming months.

Am completely out for the Stonebridge Cross site, its just not for me. Anything closer to the city is better in my eyes - and the waterfront is the dream.

I read Andersons comments as we would have it all boxed off and a spade in the ground within 3 years not that it would be complete.

Liverpool’s Mayor has revealed that he expects Everton to be competing in a new stadium within three years.

The Toffees have a long and distinguished history at Goodison Park, which is one of the oldest and most venerable stadiums in the English game.

However, like a host of their Premier League rivals, the Merseysiders are considering a move to maximise revenue and accommodate more fans.

If the Mayor’s comments are anything to go by, it may well be a short wait for Everton fans as they embark on the new stage in their development.

“I’m confident the new stadium will be up and running in three years time,” Mayor Anderson told BBC Radio Merseyside, reported by The Liverpool Echo.

“I think there is a real acceptance by them and I’m pretty confident that within three years there will be a new stadium for Everton Football Club in Liverpool.”

Saying goodbye to Goodison would surely be a sad day for the club’s long serving and passionate supporters, similar to what West Ham’s fans have gone through with the Boleyn Ground.

However, for a team like Everton to break into the Premier League’s top four, keep their best players and compete with wealthier rivals, a move to a stadium that can hold more people seems like a pre-requisite.

It wouldn't be the first time nor the last time a headline has misrepresented the quotes. A bit of common sense suggests a different interpretation.

.....I think we need to be patient and trust that the new owner has his team working on this. It's a new regime with the impetus to make things happen.

Nah mate, Kenwright probably owns some land that he's trying to flog to build the stadium on.
